The 1998 Copa del Rey Final was the 96th final of the Spanish cup competition, the Copa del Rey. The final was played at the Mestalla Stadium in Valencia on 29 April 1998. The 1997–98 Copa del Rey was the 96th staging of the Copa del Rey. The competition started on 3 September 1997 and concluded on 29 April 1998 with the final, held at the Mestalla Stadium in Valencia. Format * All rounds are played over two legs apart the final which is played a single match in a neutral venue. * In the event that aggregate scores finish level, the away goals rule. Juan Antonio Pizzi Torroja (, ; born 7 June 1968) is a retired professional footballer who played as a striker, currently manager of UAE Pro League club Al-Wasl. Xabier Eskurza García (born 17 January 1970) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a right midfielder. Carlos Ángel Roa (born 15 August 1969) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is the current goalkeeper coach of Greek Super League club AEK Athens. Francisco Manuel "Paco" Soler Atencia (born 5 March 1970) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a central midfielder, and a manager. He only played with Mallorca during his career, amassing La Liga totals of 168 matches and three goals over nine seasons and spending 14 years with the first team overall.
