1997–98 Ukrainian First League was the seventh season of the Ukrainian First League which was won by SC Mykolaiv. The season started on July 30, 1997, and finished on July 9, 1998. Ukrainian First League
The Persha Liha ( uk, Перша ліга) or Ukrainian First League is a professional football league in Ukraine and the second tier of national football competitions pyramid. Members of the league also participate in the Ukrainian Cup. It is the highest division of Professional Football League. History The league was set up by the newly reorganized Football Federation of Ukraine (a successor of the Football Federation of the Ukrainian SSR) with the falling apart Soviet Union as a second tier, lower than Ukrainian Higher League (Vyshcha Liha) and higher that Ukrainian Transitional League (Perekhidna Liha). The very first round of games that took place for this league was on 14 March 1992. FC Nyva Vinnytsia is a professional Ukraine, Ukrainian association football, football club based in the city of Vinnytsia. The name "Nyva" translates to "grain field". The club was originally created in 1958 in the Soviet Union and folded in 2005 and 2012, but was reformed again in 2015 as Nyva-V and renamed back to Nyva in 2018. FC Shakhtar Makiivka was a Ukrainian football club from Makiivka, Donetsk Oblast. History The club was established in 1981 as Bazhanovets Makiivka representing the Bazhanov coal mine of the State mining enterprise Makiyivvuhol (Makeyevugol). From 1992 until 1999 participated in the professional competitions of Ukraine. FC Naftovyk-Ukrnafta Okhtyrka
Football Club Naftovyk Okhtyrka is a Ukrainian amateur football club based in Okhtyrka, Sumy Oblast, where it was founded in 1980. The name of the club means "oiler" in Ukrainian. Ukrnafta company owned the club between 2004 and 2018. The club was dissolved in July 2018, but refounded again in 2020. FC Zorya Luhansk ( uk, ФК «Зоря» Луганськ ) is a Ukrainian football team. Zorya Luhansk is based in the city of Luhansk, Ukraine. However, because of the Russo-Ukrainian War, the team play their games at Slavutych-Arena in Zaporizhzhia. The modern club as a team of masters was established on 10 April 1964 by the Football Federation of the Soviet Union merging the October Revolution Plant (Luhanskteplovoz) sports club Zorya and the Luhansk regional branch of the " Trudovye Rezervy" sports society. FC Lviv ( ua, ФК «Львів») was a Ukrainian football club from the city of Lviv. It was initially founded in 1992. History The idea about a new city's club was initiated by a Ukrainian coach Mykhailo Vilkhovyi. The club was established in 1992 as an amateur team that won the Lviv Oblast Cup and the oblast second tier competitions. In 1993 the club entered the Ukrainian Transitional League and in two seasons progressed two tiers reaching the Ukrainian First League where it stayed until 2001. It was one of three teams that were admitted to the 1993–94 Ukrainian Transitional League and did not play in the previous 1992–93 Ukrainian Football Amateur League.
