FC Dinamo Tbilisi
FC Dinamo Tbilisi ( ka, დინამო თბილისი, ) is a Georgian professional football club based in Tbilisi, Georgia, that competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the top flight of Georgian football. Dinamo Tbilisi was one of the most prominent clubs in Soviet football and a major contender in the Soviet Top League almost immediately after it was established in 1936. The club was then part of one of the leading sport societies in the Soviet Union, the All-Union Dynamo sports society which had several other divisions besides football and was sponsored by the Soviet Ministry of Internal Affairs. Its main claim to European fame was winning the Cup Winners' Cup in 1981, beating FC Carl Zeiss Jena of East Germany 2–1 in the final in Düsseldorf. FC Merani Tbilisi is a Georgian football club based in Tbilisi. They play in the Erovnuli Liga 2, the second division in Georgian football. They play their home games at Sinatle Stadium. FC Margveti Zestafoni
Margveti Zestafoni was a Georgian association football club based in Zestafoni between 1990 and 2000. History In 1990 the Georgian Football Federation was founded to hold their own football competition and leave the Soviet football league system. Clubs like FC Dinamo Tbilisi and FC Guria Lanchkhuti gave up their place in the Soviet Top League to join. At that time Zestafoni had their own club FC Metallurg Zestafoni. A new club, formed as Margveti Zestafoni, joined Pirveli Liga and was promoted in the first season. Margveti was a member of Umaglesi Liga and achieved their best season in 1995–96 by finishing runner-up. But in the 1997–98 season, Margveti finished at the bottom and was relegated. FC Tskhinvali
FC Tskhinvali is a Georgian football club, which in mid-2010s spent four seasons in the top tier of the national league. Despite the name, due to the enduring Georgian–Ossetian conflict they were unable to host their opponents in the city of Tskhinvali, playing home games instead in Georgian-controlled areas, mostly in Gori, Tbilisi and Rustavi. FC Shevardeni-1906 Tbilisi is one of the oldest Georgian association football clubs. They play in the Liga 3, the third tier of Georgian football from 2023. History It was founded in 1906, after a Czech public figure named Jaroslav Svatoš invited several athletics coaches to Georgia at the end of the 19th century and formed a sports society called ''Sokol'' (Czech word for Falcon that was later translated to Georgian Shevardeni). FC Arsenali Tbilisi was a Georgian association football club based in Tbilisi. History The club was founded in 1940 as the military club DKA Tbilisi. They played in the Umaglesi Liga, the top division in Georgian football from 2005 to 2007, but were relegated to Pirveli Liga, the Georgian second division. FC Locomotive Tbilisi is a Georgian football club from the capital, Tbilisi. During the existence of the USSR the club was a part of the Lokomotiv Voluntary Sports Society. Metalurgi Rustavi is a defunct Georgian football team based in Rustavi, which has twice won the national league. In Soviet times, the club played under the name "Metalurgi" (Rustavi), then during the independence of Georgia, the club was called "Gorda" (Rustavi) and FC Rustavi.
