1996 Skate America
The 1996 Skate America was the first event of six in the 1996–97 ISU Champions Series, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at the Springfield Civic Center in Springfield, Massachusetts on October 31 – November 3. ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The invitational series was inaugurated in 1995, incorporating several previously existing events. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The junior-level equivalent is the ISU Junior Grand Prix. Short Program (figure Skating)
The short program of figure skating is the first of two segments of competitions, skated before the free skating program. It lasts, for both senior and junior singles and pair skaters, 2 minutes and 40 seconds. In synchronized skating, for both juniors and seniors, the short program lasts 2 minutes and 50 seconds. Vocal music with lyrics is allowed for all disciplines since the 2014-2015 season. The short program for single skaters and for pair skaters consists of seven required elements, and there are six required elements for synchronized skaters. Tonia Kwiatkowski
Tonia Sue Kwiatkowski (born February 12, 1971) is an American figure skating coach and former competitor. She is a two-time Winter Universiade champion, a winner of two silver medals on the Champions Series, and the 1996 U.S. national silver medalist. She finished in the top ten at two World Championships and competed in 13 U.S. Championships. Carol Heiss Jenkins and Glyn Watts were her longtime coaches. Kwiatkowski retired from amateur skating in 1998 and continues to be involved in the sport as a skater and coach. Jeffrey Langdon
Jeffrey Langdon (born August 13, 1975) is a Canadian former competitive figure skater. He is a two-time Canadian national medallist and represented Canada at the 1998 Winter Olympics, where he placed 12th. His highest placement at the World Championships was 8th, in 1998. A member of Rideau Lakes FSC, he was coached by Doug Leigh and Robert Tebby at the Mariposa School of Skating. Following his competitive retirement in 2001, Langdon coached for four years in Waterloo, Ontario and then skated on Royal Caribbean International cruise ships for Willy Bietak Productions. Stanick Jeannette (born 6 March 1977) is a French former competitive figure skater. He is a two-time (2001, 2003) European bronze medalist, the 2000 Trophée Lalique silver medalist, and a two-time (2000, 2001) French national champion. Daniel "Dan" Hollander (born May 9, 1972) is an American figure skater. He is a two-time Vienna Cup champion (1995, 1997) and a two-time U.S. national bronze medalist (1996, 1997). Scott Davis (born January 29, 1972) is an American former competitive figure skater. He is a two-time (1993–94) U.S. national champion and represented the United States at the 1994 Winter Olympics, where he placed 8th. Career Davis began his career when he won the U.S. junior national title during the 1989–90 season and began competing on the senior level nationally the following season. In the 1992–93 season, Davis won silver at 1992 Skate America and 1992 Skate Canada International. Takeshi Honda
is a former Japanese competitive figure skater. He is a two-time World bronze medalist (2002, 2003), two-time Four Continents champion (1999, 2003), and six-time Japanese national champion. Personal life Takeshi Honda was born on 23 March 1981 in Kōriyama, Fukushima, Japan. He plays the piano. Éric Millot (12 December 1968) is a French former competitive figure skater. He is the 1993 European bronze medalist, the 1995–96 Champions Series Final bronze medalist, and a four-time (1990–93) French national champion. He represented France at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, where he placed 15th, and at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, where he placed 7th. Vyacheslav Vasylovych Zahorodnyuk ( uk, В'ячеслав Васильович Загороднюк, born 11 August 1972) is a Ukrainian former competitive figure skater.
