The 1996 Bayern Rundfahrt was the 8th edition of the Bayern Rundfahrt cycle race and was held on 28 May to 2 June 1996. The race started in Rottach-Egern and finished in Burglengenfeld. The race was won by Uwe Peschel Uwe Peschel (born 4 November 1968) is a former German professional road bicycle racer and a time trialist. Peschel was born in Berlin in 1968. Uwe Peschel
Uwe Peschel (born 4 November 1968) is a former German professional road bicycle racer and a time trialist. Peschel was born in Berlin in 1968. His father, Axel Peschel, had represented East Germany at the 1968 Olympic men's team time trial a fortnight prior to his birth. At the 1992 Summer Olympics, Peschel Jr along with Bernd Dittert, Christian Meyer and Michael Rich, won the gold medal in the men's team time trial. Michael Rich (cyclist)
Michael Rich (born 23 September 1969) is a former professional road bicycle racer, who won the gold medal for his native country in the men's team time trial (100 km) at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. His winning teammates were Christian Meyer, Bernd Dittert and Uwe Peschel. Rich is most famous for his individual time trial participations in the Grand Tours (Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España). He is the father of two children. Rich retired from racing in 2006. His profession was a mechanic.
