The 1995–96 Lebanese Premier League season was the 36th season of the Lebanese Premier League, the top Lebanese professional league for association football clubs in the country, established in 1934. Shabab Sahel and Riada Wal Adab joined as the promoted clubs from the 1994–95 Lebanese Second Division. Lebanese Premier League
The Lebanese First Division ( ar, الدوري اللبناني الدرجة الأولى), commonly known as the Lebanese Premier League (), is the top division of the Lebanese football league system. There are 12 teams competing in the league, which operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Lebanese Second Division. The league's first season began in May 1934, with Nahda winning the first title. The most successful club in the league is Ansar, with 14 league titles; they set a Guinness World Record by winning 11 consecutive league titles between 1988 and 1999. Seasons run from September to June with each team playing 21 games per season. Most games are played on weekend afternoons. Nejmeh SC
Nejmeh Sporting Club ( ar, نادي النجمة الرياضي, lit=The Star Sporting Club) is a football club based in Manara, a district in Ras Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . The club was established in Beirut in 1945, and received its license in 1947. Nejmeh's board is affiliated with the Future Movement and the Hariri family. Historically, the club is second only to their cross-city rivals Ansar in the Lebanese Premier League and the Lebanese FA Cup. Nejmeh, however, lead in Lebanese Elite Cup titles. Vartan Ghazarian
Vardan Martun Ghazaryan (; ; born 1 December 1969) is a football coach and former player. Born in Armenia, Ghazaryan moved to Lebanon and obtained citizenship through naturalisation in 1994. He played for Homenetmen and Sagesse as a striker, and represented Lebanon internationally from 1995 until 2001. Ghazaryan is the second-highest all-time scorer in the Lebanese Premier League, scoring 117 official league goals. He is also the joint-top scorer for the national team with 21 goals, alongside Hassan Maatouk. In 2017, Ghazaryan was appointed manager of Tripoli for one year. He returned as Sagesse coach in 2021. Sagesse Sports Club (), known as Hekmeh ( ar, الحكمة ) in Arabic, is a football club based in Achrafieh, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . The club was founded in 1943 as Cercle de la Sagesse. Although they haven't won any major title, Sagesse came second twice in the Lebanese Premier League 2002, and were finalists in both the Lebanese FA Cup, in 2006, and the Lebanese Federation Cup, in 2004. Homenmen Sports Association Beirut (; ), or simply Homenmen, is a Lebanese-Armenian multi-sports club based in Beirut, Lebanon, section of the pan-Armenian sports and scouting organisation of the same name. It is the association football branch of the larger Lebanese-Armenian multi-sports and scouting organisation of the same name.
