1995–96 Arsenal F.C. Season
The 1995–96 season was Arsenal Football Club's 70th consecutive season in the top flight of English football. Arsenal finished fifth in the FA Premier League (known as the FA Carling Premiership for sponsorship reasons). Bruce Rioch served as Arsenal manager, succeeding George Graham. Arsenal lost to Sheffield United in the third round of the FA Cup and were knocked out of the semifinals of the League Cup by Aston Villa. Season summary Bruce Rioch was appointed Arsenal boss on 8 June 1995, and took over an Arsenal side that had finished 12th in the Premier League the previous season. George Graham
George Graham (born 30 November 1944), nicknamed "Stroller", is a Scottish former football player and manager. In his successful playing career, he made 455 appearances in England's Football League as a midfielder or forward for Aston Villa, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Portsmouth and Crystal Palace. Approximately half of his total appearances were for Arsenal, and he was part of the side that won the Football League Championship and FA Cup "double" in 1971. Graham also made 17 appearances for California Surf in the NASL in 1978. He then moved to the coaching staff at Crystal Palace, before joining former Palace manager Terry Venables as a coach at Queens Park Rangers. Alan Smith (footballer, Born 1962)
Alan Martin Smith (born 21 November 1962) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. He is a co-commentator, and sometimes studio pundit for Sky Sports. Playing career Leicester City Smith started his career at non-league Alvechurch in north-east Worcestershire. He then signed professional forms with Leicester City in June 1982. In his first season, he scored 13 goals in partnership with Gary Lineker, as the Foxes won promotion to the First Division. He spent five seasons at Leicester, scoring 84 goals in 217 appearances. In Smith's final season with the club they were relegated and he signed for Arsenal for £850.000 in March 1987, but was then loaned back to Leicester for the rest of the season. Brentford is a suburban town in West London, England and part of the London Borough of Hounslow. It lies at the confluence of the River Brent and the Thames, west of Charing Cross. Paul Davis (footballer, Born 1961)
Paul Vincent Davis (born 9 December 1961) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Davis was an integral part of the successful Arsenal side of the late 1980s, and early 1990s, winning the League Cup in 1987 and the First Division in 1989 and 1991. He also won the Cup-Double in 1993 and the Cup-Winners Cup 1994. Davis appeared in total 447 times for Arsenal, scoring 30 goals in the League and seven goals in the cups. Stefan Schwarz
Hans-Jürgen Stefan Schwarz (born 18 April 1969) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Schwarz started off his career with Malmö FF in 1987 before moving on to represent Benfica, Arsenal, Fiorentina, and Valencia until he retired at Sunderland in 2003. Schwarz won 69 caps for the Sweden national team, scoring 6 goals. Kevin Joseph Campbell (born 4 February 1970) is an English former professional footballer, sports television pundit and co-commentator. He was a striker, who featured in the Premier League for Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Everton and West Bromwich Albion. David Andrew Platt (born 10 June 1966) is an English former professional Association football, football coach and player, who played as a midfielder. Born in Chadderton, Lancashire, Platt began his career as an apprentice at Manchester United F.C., Manchester United before moving to Crewe Alexandra F.C., Crewe Alexandra, where he began building a reputation as a goal-scoring midfielder. Bolton Wanderers F
Bolton (, locally ) is a large town in Greater Manchester in North West England, formerly a part of Lancashire.
