The 1995 San Francisco Giants season was the Giants' 113th season in Major League Baseball, their 38th season in San Francisco since their move from New York following the 1957 season, and their 36th at Candlestick Park, renamed 3Com Park at Candlestick Point that year. The team finished in fourth place in the National League West with a 67–77 record, 11 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. National League West
The National League West is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed for the 1969 season when the National League expanded to 12 teams by adding the San Diego Padres and the Montreal Expos. For purpose of keeping a regular-season of 162 games, half of the teams were put into the new National League East, East Division and half into the new West Division. Within each division, the teams played 18 games each against their five division mates (90 games), and also 12 games against the teams in the opposite division (72 games), totaling 162 games. Geography Despite the geography, the owners of the Chicago Cubs insisted that their team be placed into the East Division along with the teams in New York City, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. Sergio Valdez
Sergio Valdez (born September 7, 1964 in Elias Piña, Dominican Republic) is a former professional baseball pitcher in Major League Baseball who played from through with the Montreal Expos (1986, 1992–93), the Atlanta Braves (1989–90), the Cleveland Indians (1991–92), the Boston Red Sox (1994), and San Francisco Giants (1995). Career On September 10, 1986, Valdez made his major league debut against the New York Mets giving up five earned runs and nine hits through six innings to record his first major league loss. In 1986, he started five games and lost four of them. He returned to the majors after leaving in 1989 as a reliever, starting just one in 19 appearances, and earning a 6.06 ERA with a 1-2 record. Luis Aquino
Luis Antonio Colón Aquino h-KEE-noh(born May 19, 1965) is a Puerto Rican former middle relief pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Toronto Blue Jays (1986), Kansas City Royals (1988–1992), Florida Marlins (1993–1994), Montreal Expos (1995) and San Francisco Giants (1995). Career Aquino signed with the Toronto Blue Jays as an amateur free agent in 1981 and made his major league debut with Toronto in 1986. He was later traded to the Kansas City Royals for Juan Beníquez. Aquino played most of his professional career with the Royals, but also had major league appearances for the Marlins, Expos and Giants. In a nine-year career, Aquino posted a 31–32 record with five saves and an ERA of 3.68, lower than the league average over his career. David McCarty
David Andrew McCarty (born November 23, 1969) is a former first baseman and outfielder in Major League Baseball. From 1993 through 2005, McCarty played with the Minnesota Twins (1993–1995), San Francisco Giants (1995–1996), Seattle Mariners (1998), Kansas City Royals (2000–2002), Tampa Bay Devil Rays (2002), Oakland Athletics (2003) and Boston Red Sox (2003–2005).
