1995 New York Jets Season
The 1995 New York Jets season was the 36th season for the team and the 26th in the National Football League. The Jets entered the 1995 season with their third different head coach in as many years as former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Rich Kotite was hired to replace Pete Carroll, who was fired after posting a 6–10 record in his only season as Jets head coach. Kotite did not have any success in his first year, as the team finished 3–13. The 13 losses set a team record, while the three wins were the fewest of any Jets team since 1977, when the team completed their third consecutive 3–11 season. The Jets were the first team to lose to the Carolina Panthers with a 26-15 loss in week 7. Starting with their October 1 game against the Oakland Raiders, the Jets began wearing a “DS” graphic in the shape of a football as a memorial to general manager Dick Steinberg, who had died on September 25 from stomach cancer. The American Football Conference – Eastern Division or AFC East is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Wayne Chrebet
Wayne Chrebet (born August 14, 1973) is a former American football wide receiver who played 11 seasons for the New York Jets of the National Football League from 1995 to 2005. High school and college career Chrebet grew up in Garfield, New Jersey in heavily suburban Bergen County. He played high school football at Garfield High School. After graduating from Garfield, Chrebet remained in the tri-state area, attending Hofstra University on Long Island. Chrebet enjoyed a very productive college football career. Playing from 1991 to 1994, he set several school records, which include the single-game receiving yards record (245), touchdowns in a game (five), season (16) and career (31). Ray Hamilton
Ray "Sugar Bear" Hamilton (born January 20, 1951) is a former American football player from 1973 through 1981 for the New England Patriots. He also coached for the Patriots as an assistant defensive line coach in Super Bowl XX. Hamilton got his first shot as a defensive line coach for the National Football League's Atlanta Falcons. Hamilton was an All Big 8 defensive tackle for the Oklahoma Sooners, being named to the first team in 1971 and 1972. Hamilton is best known for an incident in the 1976 NFL playoffs in a first-round game against the Oakland Raiders, when Oakland's Ken Stabler threw an incompletion after Hamilton tipped the ball as he threw. Stabler fell backwards after little or no contact from Hamilton, and the play would have resulted in a fourth down and 18 yards to go. William Muir (born October 26, 1942) is a former American football coach who served as the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and later as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Muir was fired from the Buccaneers along with five fellow assistant coaches on January 18, 2009. Dick Wood
Malcolm Richard Wood (February 29, 1936 – April 4, 2015) was an American football quarterback and coach who played college football at Auburn and professionally in the American Football League (AFL). After his player career ended, Wood served as an assistant coach in college football and the NFL over four decades. As a player Playing for Lanett High School, Wood was named to the All-State team in Alabama in 1954. He went on to help lead Auburn to an undefeated season in 1958. He was drafted by the Baltimore Colts of the National Football League (NFL) in 1959. He never played for the Colts, and signed with the Denver Broncos of the American Football League (AFL) as a free agent in 1962. Edmund Raymond "Zeke" Bratkowski (October 20, 1931 − November 11, 2019) was an American football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons with the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, and Green Bay Packers. Dick Haley
George Richard Haley, Jr. (born October 2, 1937) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played college football at the University of Pittsburgh and was drafted in the ninth round of the 1959 NFL Draft. He was a Player Personnel analyst for the Miami Dolphins. He was Director of Player Personnel for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1971–1990 as well as the New York Jets from 1991–2007.
