Brit Awards 1995 was the 15th edition of the Brit Awards, an annual pop music awards ceremony in the United Kingdom. It was organised by the British Phonographic Industry and took place on 20 February 1995 at Alexandra Palace in London. Blur won four awards, the most any artist gained in a single ceremony. Alexandra Palace
Alexandra Palace is a Grade II listed entertainment and sports venue in London, situated between Wood Green and Muswell Hill in the London Borough of Haringey. It is built on the site of Tottenham Wood and the later Tottenham Wood Farm. Originally built by John Johnson and Alfred Meeson, it opened in 1873 but following a fire two weeks after its opening, was rebuilt by Johnson. Intended as "The People's Palace" and often referred to as "Ally Pally", its purpose was to serve as a public centre of recreation, education and entertainment; North London's counterpart to the Crystal Palace in South London. At first a private venture, in 1900, the owners planned to sell it and Alexandra Park for development. A group of neighbouring local authorities managed to acquire it. I'm Still Standing
"I'm Still Standing" is a song written by English musician Elton John and songwriter Bernie Taupin, from John's 1983 album ''Too Low for Zero''. It was the second single released from the album in the UK, and the first single released in the United States. Helped by a video promoting the song on MTV, "I'm Still Standing" became a big hit for John on both sides of the Atlantic, peaking at No. 1 in Canada and Switzerland, No. 4 in the UK and No. 12 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Massive Attack are an English trip hop collective formed in 1988 in Bristol by Robert "3D" Del Naja, Adrian "Tricky" Thaws, Andrew "Mushroom" Vowles and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall. The debut Massive Attack album ''Blue Lines'' was released in 1991, with the single "Unfinished Sympathy" reaching the charts and later being voted the 63rd greatest song of all time in a poll by ''NME''. 1998's ''Mezzanine'' (containing the top 10 single " Teardrop") and 2003's '' 100th Window'' charted in the UK at number one. It was released through EMI on 29 November 1993 before Louise Nurding left to embark on a solo career prior to the release of the follow up album, ''Power of a Woman'' (1995). ''Parklife'' is the third studio album by the English rock band Blur, released on 25 April 1994 on Food Records. After disappointing sales for their previous album ''Modern Life Is Rubbish'' (1993), ''Parklife'' returned Blur to prominence in the UK, helped by its four hit singles: " Girls & Boys", "End of a Century", "Parklife" and " To the End". The Brit Award for British Producer of the Year is an award given by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), an organisation which represents record companies and artists in the United Kingdom. The accolade is presented at the Brit Awards, an annual celebration of British and international music. The award was first presented in 1977. It was not presented in 1989, between 1999 and 2008, in 2017 or 2021. As of the 38th Brit Awards in 2018, the winner is selected by a jury and no nominees are announced. The inaugural recipient of the award is George Martin, best known for his work with The Beatles. It was released as the third single from ''Bedtime Stories'' on February 13, 1995, by Maverick Records. She re-wrote a demo of the song to the current version, which was then produced by Madonna and Hooper.
