The 1995 BMW Open was a men's Association of Tennis Professionals tennis tournament held in Munich, Germany and played on outdoor clay courts. The event was part of the World Series of the 1995 ATP Tour. It was the 79th edition of the tournament and was held from 1 May through 8 May 1995. Wayne Ferreira won the singles title. Finals Singles Wayne Ferreira defeated Michael Stich 7–5, 7–6(8–6) * It was Ferreira's 2nd title of the year and the 13th of his career. Doubles Trevor Kronemann / David Macpherson defeated Luis Lobo / Javier Sánchez 6–3, 6–4 * It was Kronemann's 3rd title of the year and the 5th of his career. It was Macpherson's 3rd title of the year and the 11th of his career. ATP World Series
The ATP International Series (known from 1990 to 1997 as the ATP World Series) was a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally as part of the ATP Tour from 2000 to 2008. The series was renamed ATP Tour 250 in 2009. International Series offered players cash prizes (tournaments have purses from $416,000 to $1,000,000) and the ability to earn ATP ranking points. They generally offered less prize money and fewer points than the ATP International Series Gold, but more than tournaments on the ATP Challenger Series. Bavarian International Tennis Championships
The Bavarian International Tennis Championships (german: Internationale Tennis-Meisterschaften von Bayern, known since 1990 by its sponsored name BMW Open) is a men's tennis tournament held at the MTTC Iphitos in Munich, Germany. Held since 1900, the tournament is played on outdoor clay courts and is a part of the ATP Tour schedule. History In 1900, the first edition of the tournament was held by the tennis club ''Münchner Tennis- und Turnierclub (MTTC) Iphitos'', which was the first tennis club in Munich having been formed in 1892 by students. The club only had grass courts, and the first edition was therefore played on grass. The Center Court of the MTTC has been in Aumeisterweg since 1930, and holds 5,600 people. The tournament has offered prize money since 1970, when the total prizes amounted to $20,000.
