1994–95 Iowa State Cyclones Men's Basketball Team
The 1994–95 Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represented Iowa State University during the 1994–95 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cyclones were coached by Tim Floyd, who was in his 1st season. They played their home games at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa. They finished the season 23–11, 6–8 in Big Eight play to finish in 5th place. Their 23 wins were a school record at the time. They defeated #17 Missouri and #2 Kansas but lost to #19 Oklahoma State in the 1995 Big Eight conference tournament championship. They earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament and a #7 seed. In the tournament they defeated Florida and lost to North Carolina in the second round who would advance onto the Final Four. Tim Floyd
Tim Floyd (born February 25, 1954) is a former American college basketball coach, most recently the head coach at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He was formerly the head coach of several teams in the NCAA and the NBA. Floyd is also known as the coach of the Chicago Bulls for four seasons. He announced his retirement from coaching after the UTEP game on November 27, 2017. Personal life Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Floyd is a 1977 graduate of Louisiana Tech University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education. He originally was a walk-on player at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, but he transferred to Louisiana Tech in Ruston and was a scholarship player there. The Florida Tech Panthers are the athletic teams that represent the Florida Institute of Technology, located in Melbourne, Florida, in intercollegiate athletics at the Division II level of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), competing in the Sunshine State Conference. Loren Henry Meyer (born December 30, 1972) is a retired American professional basketball player who played three seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round (24th pick overall) of the 1995 NBA draft. Biography Meyer was born in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He attended Ruthven-Ayrshire High School in Ruthven, Iowa. Fredrick Kristian Hoiberg (born October 15, 1972) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He has served as the men's head basketball coach at the University of Nebraska since 2019. Hoiberg grew up in Ames, Iowa, and played college basketball at Iowa State University in Ames where he earned the nickname "The Mayor".
