1994–95 Belarusian First League
1994–95 Belarusian First League was the fourth season of 2nd level football championship in Belarus. It started in July 1994 and ended in June 1995. Team changes from 1993–94 season Winners of 1993–94 First League ( Obuvshchik Lida) were promoted to Belarusian Premier League. They were replaced by the last placed team of 1993–94 Premier League ( Stroitel Starye Dorogi). Smena Minsk, who finished 15th, relegated to the Second League. They were replaced by two best teams of 1993–94 Second League ( Kardan-Flyers Grodno and Ataka-Aura Minsk). The number of participating teams thus was restored to 16. Before the start of the season Selmash Mogilev were renamed to Transmash Mogilev. During the winter break, Polesye Mozyr changed their name to MPKC Mozyr and KIM-2 Vitebsk changed their name to Kimovets Vitebsk. Belarusian First League
The Belarusian First League is the second tier of professional football in Belarus. It was created in 1992, following the Belarusian independence. History and format The typical format of the league involves 16 clubs playing a double round-robin tournament over 30 matchdays (with the exception of shortened 1992 and 1995 seasons, which were a single round-robin tournaments). On several occasions the number of participating teams was smaller (15 or 14), due to last minute withdrawals and no teams available for replacement. In most of the seasons, two best teams are getting promoted to Belarusian Premier League, while two worst teams are relegated Belarusian Second League. Pinsk
Pinsk ( be, Пі́нск; russian: Пи́нск ; Polish: Pińsk; ) is a city located in the Brest Region of Belarus, in the Polesia region, at the confluence of the Pina River and the Pripyat River. The region was known as the Marsh of Pinsk and is southwest of Minsk. The population is 138,415. Staryya Darohi
Staryya Darohi be, Старыя Дарогi, Staryja Darohi, russian: Старые Дороги) is a town in Republic of Belarus, the capital of the Staryya Darohi District of Minsk Region. First documental record: 1524. History In 1939, there were more than 1000 Jews living there, making up 28% of the total population. There were 2 synagogues and several Jewish schools. During World War II, in 1941, Jews were imprisoned in a closed ghetto by Germans, some Jews managed to escape before on their own or by train. There was a fenced and guarded ghetto on Kirov street where there was a Jewish school and several houses. A group of Jews was forced to swim into the river and shot by the Germans when they were in the water, but little is known about this massacre. On January 19, 1942, the Jews were murdered in a mass execution at a place known as Kacharka. They were massacred by an SS detachment, assisted by local police. FC Kobrin
FC Kobrin ( be, Футбольны клуб Кобрын) is a Belarusian football club based in Kobrin, Brest Oblast. History FC Kobrin was founded in 1992 in the city of Brest as Brestbytkhim Brest. The team made its debut in Belarusian Second League in 1992–93 season, and after winning the league from the first attempt they were promoted to the First League. In 1996, the team relocated to its current location in Kobrin, Brest Voblast. In early 1997 the team withdrew to the amateur level due to financial troubles. Kobrin returned to the Second League for 1998 and 1999 seasons and then again for one more season in 2006. In between these years and since 2007 Kobrin played on amateur level in Brest Oblast championship. The team also made a number of appearances in Belarusian Cup in recent seasons. FC Kommunalnik Slonim was a Belarusian football club based in Slonim, Grodno Oblast. History The team was founded in 1969.
