Yury Nozhikov
Yury Abramovich Nozhikov (russian: Юрий Абрамович Ножиков, 1934–2010) was a Soviet electrical engineer and Russian politician who was the first governor of Irkutsk Oblast (East Siberia) in 1991–1997. Early life Yury Chen was born in Leningrad (modern Saint Petersburg) in 1934 to a Chinese father Chen Kin San (Leonid Chen) and Russian mother Tatyana Toropova, who was working as nurse. His father most likely fell under Stalinist repressions in 1937. Later Yury's mother remarried Jewish worker Abram Moiseyevich Nozhikov, and the boy received his last name and patronymic. Abram Nozhikov died in the Great Patriotic War in 1942. In 1956 Nozhikov graduated from the Ivanovo Power Engineering Institute. He worked at the largest construction sites in the Urals, Siberia, the Far East and the Far North. Leonid Potapov
Leonid Vasilyevich Potapov (russian: Леони́д Васи́льевич Пота́пов; 4 July 1935 – 12 November 2020) was the President of the Buryat Republic in Russia from August 1991 to July 2007. He was reelected three times (in 1994, 1998 and 2002); in 2002 he received 68% of the vote. Biography Potapov was born in Uakit, Buryatia. In 1959 he graduated as an Engineer from Khabarovsk Institute of Railway Transport. From January to April 1990 he was nominal Vice President (Vice Chairman of Supreme Council) of Turkmen SSR. In April 1990 he returned to Buryatia and was nominated as a local communist party chief (1st secretary of CPSU Buryatian branch). In October 1991 he became Chairman of the Supreme Council. Yury Alekseyevich Spiridonov (Russian: Юрий Алексеевич Спиридонов; 1 November 1938 – 12 August 2010), was a Russian politician who had served as a member of the State Duma of the IV convocation from 2003 to 2007. Spirodov was known to be the first Head of the Komi Republic, having served from 1992 to 2002. Ruslan Sultanovich Aushev (russian: Русла́н Султа́нович А́ушев; inh, Руслан Султана Овшанаькъан; born 29 October 1954) is a former politician. He was the president of Ingushetia from March 1993 to December 2001. He was reportedly the youngest officer in the Soviet army to reach the rank of lieutenant general.
