1994 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track And Field Championships
The 1994 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships were contested June 1−4 at Bronco Stadium at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. It determined the individual and team national champions of men's and women's collegiate Division I outdoor track and field events in the United States. These were the 72nd annual men's championships and the 13th annual women's championships. This was the Broncos' first time hosting the event; it returned to Boise five years later. In a repeat of the previous two years' results, Arkansas and LSU topped the men's and women's team standings, respectively; it was the Razorbacks' fourth men's team title and the eighth for the Lady Tigers. This was the third of eight consecutive titles for Arkansas. Michael Green (sprinter)
Michael Green (born 7 November 1970) is a retired Jamaican sprinter who specialized in the 100 metres. Michael Green was born in Trelawny. He attended William Knibb Memorial High and graduated in May 1989 where he dominated the 100m. Green's nickname at William Knibb was 'Roach'. After graduating from William Knibb as the fastest male in 1989, Green was awarded a scholarship to attend Clemson University. The BYU Cougars are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Brigham Young University (BYU), located in Provo, Utah. Oluyemi Kayode (7 July 1968 – 1 October 1994) was a Nigerian sprinter. Kayode won the silver medal in 4 x 100 m relay at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain, together with teammates Chidi Imoh, Olapade Adeniken and Davidson Ezinwa. He also won a silver medal in 200 metres at the 1993 African Championships and was Nigerian national champion on that distance in 1993 and 1994 respectively. The Kentucky Wildcats are the men's and women's intercollegiate athletic squads of the University of Kentucky (UK), a founding member of the Southeastern Conference. Timothy M. Harden (born January 27, 1974) is an American former athlete who competed mainly in the 100 metres. Harden was born in Kansas City, Missouri, where he graduated from Northeast High School in 1992. He also attended the University of Kentucky. He is also the 2001 indoor world champion and 1999 world indoor silver medallist behind Maurice Greene. He competed for the United States in the 1996 Summer Olympics held in Atlanta, United States in the 4 × 100 metre relay where he won the silver medal with his teammates Jon Drummond, Michael Marsh and Dennis Mitchell. The Houston Cougars are the athletic teams representing the University of Houston. Informally, the Houston Cougars have also been referred to as the Coogs, UH, or simply Houston. Houston's nickname was suggested by early physical education instructor of the university and former head football coach, John R. Samuel Jefferson
Samuel Jefferson (April 19, 1971 – January 20, 2001) was an American sprinter. A native of Waco, Texas, Jefferson attended Waco High School and was a track and field athlete for the University of Houston. He claimed the 100 and 200 meter sprint double at the 1993 Southwest Conference Championships and was the outdoor 100 meters champion at the 1994 NCAA Division I Championships. Jefferson won the 100 meters silver medal at the 1993 University Games in Buffalo, behind Daniel Effiong. As a runner, Jefferson also won a gold medal in Buffalo, as well as at the 1994 Goodwill Games. In 2001, Jefferson died in his home town of Waco of an undisclosed illness.
