Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The Speedway Under-21 World Championship is an annual speedway event held each year organized by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) since 1977. As of 2022, the title was awarded to the winner of the SGP2 category at the FIM Speedway World Championship. History Between 1977 and 1987 the Championship was the called Individual Speedway Junior European Championship (European Speedway Under 21 Championship), open only to European riders. In 1979, the Championship allowed riders from other continents to compete, but was renamed to the Speedway World Under 21 Championship in 1988. A new competition was named Individual Speedway Junior European Championship was founded by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) in 1998, only open to European competitors. Originally it was called the European Under-21 Championship (from 1977-1987) but changed its name in 1988 when it was made open to all nations. Piotr Baron (born 5 February 1974) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. Career Baron represented Poland during the 1993 Speedway World Team Cup and won the 1993 Bronze Helmet. He spent the majority of his career riding for Wrocław, where he won three Polish league championships in 2003, 2004 and 2005. After retiring he later became the team manager of Unia Leszno. Daniel Jan Andersson (born 27 September 1974) also known as Dalle Andersson is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden. Marián Jirout
Marián Jirout (born 23 July 1976 in Pardubice, Czechoslovakia) is a former motorcycle speedway from the Czech Republic. Career Jirout rode in the 1999 Speedway Grand Prix. In Britain, he raced with the Peterborough Panthers for five seasons from 1995 to 2001. Following a car accident in January 2003 he was almost left paralysed but he eventually recovered. In October 2007, during the Zlatá přilba race in Pardubice, he broke three vertebrae in a fall and decided to end career of rider. Norbert Magosi (born 10 April 1975)) is a Hungarian former motorcycle speedway rider. He is a four times national champion of Hungary. Career Magosi was a member of Hungary's national team. Robert Kessler (born 5 April 1973 in Neuwied, West Germany) is a former motorcycle speedway rider, from Germany. Career Kessler represented Germany at the Speedway World Team Cup. He was the German under-21 champion in 1992 and 1993. He started his British league career with Sheffield Tigers in 1994. He spent five seasons with them from 1994 to 2001, although in between he had a season with King's Lynn Stars. He then moved to Hull Vikings in 2002 before switching to Stoke Potters in 2003. Glenn Cunningham (born 10 June 1975 in Bristol) is a former International speedway rider who rode for the various clubs in the British Premier League. Speedway career Glenn started his career with Oxford Cheetahs in 1991 and has since ridden for the Swindon Robins, Reading Racers, Peterborough Panthers, Newport Wasps, Belle Vue Aces, Eastbourne Eagles and Somerset Rebels. In 1998 he reached the Overseas Final and finished on the podium in third place, as well as winning the Premier League Championship, the Premier League Riders Championship, the Premier League Fours and the Premier League Pairs with his club side, Peterborough Panthers.
