1994 Hall Of Fame Bowl
The 1994 Hall of Fame Bowl featured the 23rd-ranked Michigan Wolverines, and the unranked NC State Wolfpack. It was the eighth edition of the Hall of Fame Bowl. After a scoreless first quarter, Michigan's Tyrone Wheatley scored on a 26-yard rushing touchdown, and Michigan led 7–0. Derrick Alexander returned a punt 79 yards for a touchdown, making it 14–0. Quarterback Todd Collins threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Amani Toomer, making the score Michigan 21, NC State 0 at halftime. In the third quarter, Michigan returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown to lead 28–0. Tyrone Wheatley added an 18-yard touchdown run to make it 35–0. NC State got its only touchdown on a 12-yard touchdown pass, making it 35–7. Michigan closed the scoring with a 16-yard touchdown run by Powers, making the final score 42–7. Big Ten Conference
The Big Ten Conference (stylized B1G, formerly the Western Conference and the Big Nine Conference) is the oldest Division I collegiate athletic conference in the United States. 1993–94 NCAA Football Bowl Games
The 1993–94 NCAA football bowl games concluded the 1993 NCAA Division I-A football season. In the second year of the Bowl Coalition era, the 1994 Orange Bowl was designated as the national championship game, pitting Florida State (11–1), ranked first in the AP Poll and third in the Coaches Poll, against Nebraska (11–0), ranked second in the AP Poll and first in the Coaches Poll. Undefeated and untied West Virginia was ranked second in the Coaches Poll but was relegated to the Sugar Bowl after finishing in third in the Bowl Coalition composite rankings. Florida State defeated Nebraska in the Orange Bowl, which, along with West Virginia's loss to Florida in the Sugar Bowl, allowed Florida State to secure a national championship in both major polls. Amani Toomer
Amani Askari Toomer (born September 8, 1974) is a former American football wide receiver and punt returner who played his entire career for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He registered over 1,000 receiving yards each season from 1999 to 2003, was a member of the 2007 Giants team that won Super Bowl XLII, and holds Giants' club records with 9,497 receiving yards, 668 receptions and 54 receiving touchdowns. He also returned 109 punts for 1,060 yards and three touchdowns. As a rookie in 1996, he led the NFL with an average of 16.6 yards on 18 punt returns. Todd Steven Collins (born November 5, 1971) is a former American football quarterback. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 1995 NFL Draft. He played college football at Michigan. Collins also played for the Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Redskins. After beginning his career as the ''heir apparent'' to Jim Kelly and largely failing in that position, he spent the rest of his NFL career as a backup quarterback, spending several years serving behind Elvis Grbac and Trent Green of the Chiefs. Derrick Scott Alexander (born November 6, 1971) is a former American football wide receiver. He played college football at the University of Michigan from 1989 to 1993 where he was selected as a first-team All-Big Ten receiver in both 1992 and 1993. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 1994 NFL Draft and played nine seasons in the National Football League with the Cleveland Browns (1994–1995), Baltimore Ravens (1996–1997), Kansas City Chiefs (1998–2001), and Minnesota Vikings (2002).
