1993–94 Belarusian Cup
The 1993–94 Belarusian Cup was the third season of the annual Belarusian football cup competition. It began on 3 July 1993 with the first of five rounds and ended on 24 June 1994 with the final at the Dinamo Stadium in Minsk. FC Neman Grodno were the defending champions, having defeated FC Vedrich Rechitsa in the 1993 final, but were knocked out in the first round by Albertin Slonim. FC Dinamo Minsk won the final against FC Fandok Bobruisk to win their second title. Round of 32 The games were played on 3 July 1993. Round of 16 The games were played on 7 July 1993. Quarterfinals The first legs were played on 11 July 1993 and the second legs were played on 2 and 8 August 1993. FC Dinamo Minsk ( be, ФК Дынама Мінск, ''FK Dynama Minsk''; russian: link=no, ФК Динамо Минск) is a professional football club based in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk. FC Torpedo Mogilev
FC Torpedo Mogilev is a Belarusian football club based in Mogilev. History The club was formed in 1959 as Kirovets Mogilev. During 1962–1963, the team played in the Belarusian SSR League, before submerging to regional and city level competitions. In 1979, the club was renamed to Torpedo Mogilev and joined the Belarusian SSR top league once again. They were third in 1979 and won their only championship title in 1982. The team began playing in the Belarusian Premier League in 1992. The first two seasons were most successful when they finished 7th (1992) and 8th (1992–93). After that, Torpedo could not get higher than 11th and mostly were struggling against relegation. In 1996, Torpedo were renamed to Torpedo-Kadino Mogilev. Minsk-2 was a Belarusian football club based in Minsk and was a reserve team of FC Minsk. History The team was formed in 1954 as FShM Minsk (''Futbolnaya Shkhola Molodyozhi'', or ''Football School of Youth'') and was essentially a student team. During Soviet years, they spent the most of their seasons playing only in youth competitions, although they also spent several seasons in senior Belarusian SSR league. Penalty Shootout (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any).
