1993 Rugby World Cup Sevens
The 1993 Rugby World Cup Sevens was held at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, Scotland, in April 1993. This tournament was the inaugural Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament. The International Rugby Board invited the established rugby union nations but also were keen to involve emerging nations in the event, recognising the fact that Sevens was providing the bridge between the developed rugby nations and those whose rugby union traditions were less well established. The IRB situated the tournament in the spiritual home nation of rugby sevens, Scotland. The games were played at the home of Scottish rugby, Murrayfield Stadium. Mark Perego
Mark Perego (born 8 February 1964 in Winchester, England) is a former Wales international rugby union player. A flanker, he played club rugby for Llanelli and attained 9 caps for the Wales national rugby union team. Rugby Perego made his Wales debut 3 March 1990 versus Scotland. He went on to be a key player in the Welsh championship-winning team of the 1994 Five Nations. His strengths as a player included his powerful tackling and his phenomenal fitness, the latter of which he maintained through a highly-effective, but eccentric, training regime. In a famous sequence, BBC Wales filmed him running through a river in a pink beret and chopping trees with an axe. He played 187 times for Llanelli and scored 32 tries. Neil Jenkins, (born 8 July 1971) is a Welsh former rugby union player and current coach. He played fly-half, centre, or full back for Pontypridd, Cardiff, Celtic Warriors, Wales and the British & Irish Lions. Jenkins is Wales' highest ever points-scorer and is the fourth highest on the List of leading rugby union test point scorers. He was the first player to score 1,000 points in international matches. Robert Howley
Robert Howley (born 13 October 1970) is a Welsh former rugby union player and coach. As a player, he won 59 caps for Wales, 22 of them as captain. He was part of the Wales coaching team for many years. He is currently a coaching consultant for the Toronto Arrows in Major League Rugby (MLR). Playing career Club Howley played for Bridgend, Cardiff and Wasps. He gained the distinction of Welsh Player of the Year in 1996 and 1997. Noa Nadruku (born 19 September 1967) is a Fijian former rugby footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. After representing Fiji in rugby union, he switched to play rugby league in Australia for the Canberra Raiders (92 games between 1993 and 1997) and was named as one of the best 25 players for the Raiders' 25-year anniversary.
