1992–93 New Jersey Devils Season
The 1992–93 New Jersey Devils season was the franchise's 11th season in New Jersey. The Devils finished fourth in the Patrick Division with a record of 40 wins, 37 losses and seven ties for 87 points. However, they lost the Patrick Division Semi-final to the Presidents' Trophy-winning Pittsburgh Penguins in five games. The Devils were coached by Herb Brooks, who had led the U.S. men's ice hockey team to victory in the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York. The team was captained by defenseman Scott Stevens. In 1992–93 the Devils debuted a new color scheme – they kept the red and white, but replaced the green with black. The red, white and black color scheme is still in use today. The Eastern Conference (french: Conférence de l'Est) is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Western Conference. History Originally named the Prince of Wales Conference, it was created in 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. United States Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The United States men's national ice hockey team is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with its U18 and U17 development program in Plymouth, Michigan. The team is controlled by USA Hockey, the governing body for organized ice hockey in the United States. The U.S. team is currently ranked 4th in the IIHF World Rankings.
