1992–93 Belarusian Premier League
The 1992–93 Belarusian Premier League was the second season of top-tier football in Belarus. It started on 1 August 1992 and ended on 17 June 1993. Dinamo Minsk were the defending champions. Team changes from 1992 season No team has relegated after 1992 season. The winners of 1992 Belarusian First League ( Dinamo-2 Minsk) were promoted and the league was expanded to 17 teams for one season only. In order to play in Premier League, Dinamo-2 Minsk split from their parent team Dinamo Minsk into separate football club (although both teams remained the parts of the same organization) and changed their name to Belarus Minsk. SKB-Lokomotiv Vitebsk changed their name to Lokomotiv Vitebsk prior to the season. Belarusian Premier League
The Belarusian Premier League or the Vyšejšaja Liha or the Vysheyshaya Liga ( be, Вышэйшая ліга, russian: Высшая лига, "Top League") is the top division of professional football in Belarus, and is organized by the Belarusian Football Federation. The number of teams in the competition has varied over the years from as high as 17 (1992–93 season) to as low as 11 (2012). As of 2016, the league included 16 teams. Each team plays every other team twice during the course of the season. At the end of the season, the two teams with the fewest points are automatically relegated to the Belarusian First League, while the third worst team plays a promotion-relegation playoff against the third best team from the second tier. The top two teams from the Belarusian First League automatically win promotion to the Premier League. FC Bobruisk
FC Bobruisk is a defunct Belarusian football club from Bobruisk. They disbanded in 1995. History The team was formed in late 1984 as ''Traktor Bobruisk''. During Soviet years, they played in the Belarusian SSR league. From 1992 until 1995, the team was playing in the Belarusian Premier League. In late 1992, they changed name to ''Fandok Bobruisk'' and 1995 to ''FC Bobruisk''. After unsuccessful 1995 season, they finished last with only 2 points in 15 games. The team was disbanded. Dinamo Stadium (Minsk)
Dinamo National Olympic Stadium ( be, Нацыянальны Алімпійскі стадыён Дынама,''Nacyjanalny Alimpijski stadyjon Dynama'', ) is a multi-purpose stadium in Minsk, Belarus. It was reopened after a renovation project. Earlier it was used mostly for football matches and was the home ground of Dinamo Minsk, FC Minsk and the Belarus national football team. Previously the stadium officially held 40,000, but because part of the upper stand had been abandoned in the mid-1990s for safety reasons, the actual capacity before renovations was 34,000. After renovation the capacity is only 22,246. History Dinamo Stadium was constructed and opened in 1934 and then expanded in 1939. FC Rechitsa-2014 () was a Belarusian football club based in Rechytsa. History The club was founded in 1952 as Krasnaya Zvezda Rechitsa (''Red Star'') and spent Soviet years playing in the Belarusian SSR league or in lower regional leagues. In 1960, they became Dneprovets Rechitsa, then Dnepr Rechitsa in 1962. In 1977, they were renamed to Neftyanik Rechitsa (''Oiler'') and in 1980 to Sputnik Rechitsa (''Satellite''). In 1991, Sputnik won the Belarusian SSR First League (2nd level). In 1992, the club was renamed to Vedrich Rechitsa and included to newly created Belarusian Premier League. FC Starye Dorogi is a Belarusian football club based in Staryya Darohi (Starye Dorogi), Minsk Region. FC Gomel ( be, ФК Гомель), or FK Homiel, is a Belarusian football club, playing in the city of Gomel. Their home stadium is Central Stadium. History Teams from Gomel (usually city or raion selection or railway-based team ''Lokomotiv'', but not always) played in the Belarusian SSR championships since the early 1920s. In 1946, Belorusian SSR league for one season becomes one of the zones of the USSR 3rd level league, and ''Lokomotiv Gomel'' became the first city team to play in the Soviet league. FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk ( be, ФК Шахцёр Салігорск, ''FK Shakhtsyor Salihorsk'') is a Belarusian Premier League football club, playing in the city of Soligorsk (Salihorsk) . History The club was founded in 1961. During Soviet era Shakhtyor Soligorsk was playing in top or second division of the Belarusian SSR league, occasionally dropping to lower tiers (Minsk Oblast league) for a short time. FC Dnepr Mogilev ( be, ФК Дняпро Магілёў, ''FK Dniapro Mahilyow''; russian: ФК Днепр Могилёв) is a Belarusian football team, playing in the city of Mogilev. Their home stadium is Spartak Stadium. History Dnepr Mogilev was founded in 1960 under the name Khimik Mogilev and began playing in the Class B (second tier league) of Soviet championship, which at the time consisted of over 140 teams split into several regional zones. In 1963, the team relegated to the third tier due to league structure reorganization and changed their name to Spartak Mogilev. The team plays their home games at the Torpedo Stadium in Minsk, which holds 4,800 people. They currently play in Belarusian Second League.
