1992 Wellington Local Elections
The 1992 Wellington local elections were part of the 1992 New Zealand local elections, to elect members to sub-national councils and boards. The Wellington elections cover one regional council (the Greater Wellington Regional Council), eight territorial authority (city and district) councils, three district health boards, and various community boards and licensing trusts. The polling was conducted using the standard first-past-the-post electoral method. James Shaw (New Zealand Politician)
James Peter Edward Shaw (born 6 May 1973) is a New Zealand politician and a leader of the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand. Voters elected Shaw to the New Zealand parliament at the 2014 general election as a list representative of the Green Party. The party selected Shaw as its male co-leader in May 2015. Following Metiria Turei's resignation in August 2017, Shaw became the party's sole leader for the duration of the 2017 general election. Kerry Prendergast
Dame Kerry Leigh Prendergast (née Ferrier, born 28 March 1953) is a New Zealand politician who served as the 33rd Mayor of Wellington between 2001 and 2010, succeeding Mark Blumsky. She was the second woman to hold the position, after Fran Wilde. Rana Donald Waitai (26 November 1942 – 8 May 2021) was a New Zealand politician and lawyer. He was a member of the New Zealand House of Representatives representing Te Puku o Te Whenua, for the New Zealand First Party and Mauri Pacific Party from 1996 to 1999. Ruth Gotlieb (née Wolman, 16 May 1923 – 23 July 2019) was a local politician in Wellington, New Zealand, serving as a Wellington City Councillor from 1983 to 2001. Biography Early life and career Gotlieb was born in England on 16 May 1923, the daughter of Joseph and Reka Wolman. The family moved to Cork, Ireland, when her father was appointed a rabbi there. When she was a teenager she and her family moved again, to Brisbane, Australia, as her father had been appointed chief rabbi for the city. During World War II, Gotlieb joined the Signal Corps and became a Morse operator. Biography Early life Stephen Rainbow was born in Christchurch in 1961.
