The 1992 NSW Open was a combined men's and women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts at the White City Stadium in Sydney, Australia that was part of the World Series of the 1992 ATP Tour and Tier II of the 1992 WTA Tour. It was the 100th edition of the tournament and was held from 6 January through 12 January 1994. Emilio Sánchez and Gabriela Sabatini won the singles titles. ATP International Series
The ATP International Series (known from 1990 to 1997 as the ATP World Series) was a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally as part of the ATP Tour from 2000 to 2008. The series was renamed ATP Tour 250 in 2009. International Series offered players cash prizes (tournaments have purses from $416,000 to $1,000,000) and the ability to earn ATP ranking points. They generally offered less prize money and fewer points than the ATP International Series Gold, but more than tournaments on the ATP Challenger Series. Zina Garrison-Jackson
Zina Lynna Garrison (born November 16, 1963) is an American former professional tennis player. Garrison was the runner-up in singles at the 1990 Wimbledon Championships, a three-time major mixed doubles champion, and an Olympic gold and bronze medalist from the women's doubles and singles events, respectively, at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Garrison reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 4 on 20 November 1989. Kelly Jones (tennis)
Kelly Jones (born March 31, 1964) is an American former doubles world No. 1 tennis player. Jones reached the finals in doubles at the Australian and US Opens in 1992. He is currently the Head Men's Tennis Coach at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Biography Jones played varsity tennis at Pepperdine University from 1982 to 1985, where he won the NCAA Division 1 doubles title in 1984 and 1985. He was a member of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games U.S. tennis team. Jones joined the professional tour in 1986. He won his first top-level doubles title in 1987 at Auckland. Scott Davis (born August 27, 1962) is an American former professional tennis player. He reached a career high singles ranking of world No. 11 (in October 1985) and doubles ranking of world No. 2 (in January 1991). Tennis career A right-handed serve and volleyer, Davis played 14 years on the tour. He won three singles titles – the 1983 Maui, 1985 Tokyo Outdoor, and 1990 Auckland Grand Prix events – and 22 doubles titles. Guy Forget
Guy Forget (; born 4 January 1965) is a French tennis administrator and retired professional player. During his career, he helped France win the Davis Cup in both 1991 and 1996. Since retiring as a player, he has served as France's Davis Cup team captain. Career Forget first came to the tennis world's attention as an outstanding junior player who won the French Open junior title in 1982. He turned professional later that year. His breakthrough year on the professional tour was 1986 when he made it to the fourth round of Roland Garros, his best grand slam at that point, and won his first top-level singles title in Toulouse, where both his father and grandfather had won, respectively in 1966 and 1946, and where he won again in 1991 and 1992. Hardcourt
A hardcourt (or hard court) is a surface or floor on which a sport is played, most usually in reference to tennis courts. It is typically made of rigid materials such as asphalt or concrete, and covered with acrylic resins to seal the surface and mark the playing lines, while providing some cushioning. Historically, hardwood surfaces were also in use in indoor settings, similar to an indoor basketball court, but these surfaces are rare now. The WTA Tier III tournaments were Women's Tennis Association tennis third-level tournaments held from 1990 until the end of the 2008 season.
