The 1992 tournament championship game was played on May 25, 1992, at Franklin Field in front of 13,150 fans. Princeton completed a 13 and 2 season by defeating Syracuse in two overtime, 10-9, to win the Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship. Tournament overview The win marked the first NCAA tournament title for Princeton, but seventh overall college lacrosse national championship. The Tigers upset top-ranked Syracuse who were playing in their fourth Division I final in the prior five years. Syracuse, which had come back from a six goal deficit, lost on Andy Moe's fourth goal of the game nine seconds into the second sudden-death overtime. Princeton won the overtime faceoff with Moe sprinting down the right side for the winning goal. A misplayed clear by Princeton's goalie allowed Tom Marechek to score a virtually empty net goal with 42 seconds left in regulation to tie it. Franklin Field
Franklin Field is a sports stadium in Philadelphia, United States, at the eastern edge of the University of Pennsylvania's campus. It is the home stadium for the Penn Relays, and the University of Pennsylvania's stadium for football, track and field and lacrosse. Towson Tigers Men's Lacrosse
The Towson Tigers men's lacrosse team represents Towson University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college lacrosse. The coach is currently Shawn Nadelen, who is in his fifth year at that position. The team plays its home games in Johnny Unitas Stadium. The NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament determines the annual top men's field lacrosse team in the NCAA Division I. This tournament has determined the national champion since the inaugural 1971 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship. From 1936 through 1970, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) awarded the Wingate Memorial Trophy annually to the collegiate champion based on regular season records. Darren Lowe (lacrosse)
Darren Lowe was a three-time All-American NCAA lacrosse player at Brown University from 1989 to 1992 who led his team to three straight NCAA tournament quarterfinal appearances. Career Highlights During Lowe's four years at Brown, the team compiled a record of 45 wins and 16 losses, with the 1991 squad compiling a 13 and 1 record. The 1991 team went undefeated during the regular season and received a number two seeding in the NCAA tournament before finally falling to Maryland in the quarterfinals. Brown made the NCAA tournament in three out of Lowe's four seasons, with a tournament record of two wins and three losses. Lowe holds the 5th highest total in NCAA Division I with 316 career points. Terry Riordan
Terry Riordan (born July 27, 1973) is a former professional lacrosse player. He was a member of Major League Lacrosse's Los Angeles Riptide and plays attack. He also played for the Long Island Lizards in 2001 and 2002. Terry's brother James played lacrosse at Penn and another brother, Dan, had a brief career in the NLL. In 2008, Riordan scored 13 goals with 2 assists in helping the Riptide to a 7 and 5 record. College career Riordan played high school lacrosse in Baldwin, Long Island where he was All-County. Kevin E. Lowe is a finance executive and retired professional lacrosse player who played professional box lacrosse in the National Lacrosse League and professional field lacrosse in Major League Lacrosse from 1995 to 2006. He starred as a member of the Princeton Tigers men's lacrosse team from 1991 through 1994 and was inducted into the Lacrosse Museum and National Hall of Fame in 2009, joining his brother and father. Scott S. Bacigalupo is a former lacrosse goaltender. He was a high school All-American, four-time collegiate United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American, three-time National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) goaltender of the year, two-time NCAA tournament outstanding player and a national player of the year. The Princeton Tigers men's lacrosse team represents Princeton University in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse play. Princeton currently competes as a member of the Ivy League and plays its home games at the Class of 1952 Stadium in Princeton, New Jersey.
