The 1992 Maine Black Bears football team was an American football team that represented the University of Maine as a member of the Yankee Conference during the 1992 NCAA Division I-AA football season. In their third and final season under head coach Kirk Ferentz, the Black Bears compiled a 6–5 record (4–4 against conference opponents) and tied for fifth place in the Yankee Conference. Yankee Conference
The Yankee Conference was a collegiate sports conference in the eastern United States. From 1947 to 1976, it sponsored competition in many sports, but was a football-only league from mid-1976 until its dissolution in 1996. It is essentially the ancestor of today's Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) football conference, and the continuation of the New England Conference, though all three leagues were founded under different charters and are considered separate conferences by the NCAA. Villanova Stadium is a 12,500 seat stadium located on the campus of Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, USA. History Villanova Stadium was originally built in 1927 and dedicated on October 8, 1927.
