1992 Independence Bowl
The 1992 Independence Bowl was a college football postseason bowl game between the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Oregon Ducks. Background The Ducks finished 6th in the Pac-10 Conference. The Demon Deacons rebounded from a 1–3 start to win six of their next seven games to finish fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Wake Forest Demon Deacons Football
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons football team represents Wake Forest University in the sport of American football. The Demon Deacons compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Wake Forest plays its home football games at Truist Field at Wake Forest and is coached by Dave Clawson. Wake Forest struggled in football for much of the second half of the 20th century. Independence Bowl
The Independence Bowl is a post-season National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)-sanctioned Division I college football bowl game that is played annually each December at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Independence Bowl was named because it was inaugurated in 1976, the year of the United States Bicentennial. The bowl's current title sponsor is Radiance Technologies, per an agreement announced for the 2020–2025 editions. Only one prior edition of the bowl, in 2013, has not used Independence Bowl branding. 1999 Aloha Bowl
The 1999 Aloha Bowl was a college football bowl game played December 25, 1999, in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was part of the 1999 NCAA Division I-A football season. It featured the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, who finished 5th in the ACC, and the Arizona State Sun Devils, who had finished 4th in the Pac-10 conference. The 1946 Gator Bowl was the first inaugural game and it featured the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the South Carolina Gamecocks, both from the Southern Conference. Alex M. Molden (born August 4, 1973) is a former American football defensive back who was drafted 11th in the 1996 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. He played defensive back between 1996 and 2004 for the New Orleans Saints, the San Diego Chargers and the Detroit Lions. Danny O'Neil
Danny O'Neil (born August 4, 1971) is a former American football quarterback. O'Neil was a star high school quarterback at Mater Dei in Orange County, California and was heavily recruited by Alabama and USC but chose to play for Rich Brooks at the University of Oregon. Despite being a four-year starter who set numerous passing records for the Ducks, O'Neil struggled throughout his career in Eugene. However, in 1994 O'Neil led the Ducks to the Pac-10 championship and a berth in the 1995 Rose Bowl, Oregon's first since 1958. Oregon Ducks Football
The Oregon Ducks football program is a college football team for the University of Oregon, located in the U.S. state of Oregon. The team competes at the NCAA Division I level in the FBS and is a member of the Pac-12 Conference (Pac-12). Although now known as the Ducks, the team was commonly called the Webfoots until the mid-1960s. The program first fielded a football team in 1894.
