1992 Cal State Fullerton Titans Baseball Team
The 1992 Cal State Fullerton Titans baseball team represented California State University, Fullerton in the 1992 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Titans played their home games at Goodwin Field, Titan Field. The team was coached by Augie Garrido in his 17th season at Cal State Fullerton. The Titans lost the 1992 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament, College World Series, defeated by the 1992 Pepperdine Waves baseball team, Pepperdine Waves in the championship game. Augie Garrido
August Edmun "Augie" Garrido Jr. (February 6, 1939 – March 15, 2018) was an American professional baseball player and coach in NCAA Division I college baseball, best known for his stints with the Cal State Fullerton Titans baseball, Cal State Fullerton Titans and Texas Longhorns baseball, Texas Longhorns. Garrido compiled a collegiate record of 1,975–951–9 and retired in 2016 as the coach with, at the time, the most wins in college baseball history. His win total was surpassed by Mike Martin (baseball coach), Mike Martin of the Florida State Seminoles in 2018. He took his programs to 15 College World Series, winning five of them: three with Cal State Fullerton and two with Texas. He is often considered to be arguably the greatest coach in college baseball history. Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium was a baseball stadium in Omaha, Nebraska, the former home to the annual NCAA Division I College World Series and the minor league Omaha Royals, now known as the Omaha Storm Chasers. Rosenblatt Stadium was the largest minor league baseball stadium in the United States until its demolition (Sahlen Field now holds the record). The final College World Series game at Rosenblatt Stadium was played on June 29, 2010. The final game for the Royals in the stadium, and under the Royals name, was played on September 2, 2010, with the Royals defeating the Round Rock Express. 1992 Florida State Seminoles Baseball Team
The 1992 Florida State Seminoles baseball team represented Florida State University in the 1992 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Seminoles played their home games at Dick Howser Stadium, and completed their first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The team was coached by Mike Martin in his thirteenth season as head coach at Florida State. The Seminoles reached the College World Series, their twelfth appearance in Omaha, where they finished tied for fifth place after recording a win against and a pair of losses to eventual runner-up Cal State Fullerton. Alex Box Stadium, pronounced Alec Box Stadium, was a baseball stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. It was the home field of the LSU Tigers baseball team. The stadium was located across the street from Tiger Stadium, which is visible in right field. It was most notable for ''The Intimidator'', a large billboard behind the right-field fence featuring the five years in which LSU won the College World Series. Billy Hebert Field is a stadium in Stockton, California, United States. It is used primarily for baseball and was the home field of the Stockton Ports until they moved to Banner Island Ballpark in 2005. The stadium continues to be used as a venue for high school baseball playoffs. It was also used as a practice facility for the Stockton Lightning minor Arena League football team.
