The 1991–92 Slovenian Basketball League was the first season of the Premier A Slovenian Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in Slovenia. The first half of the season consisted of 16 teams and 2 groups (14 games for each of the 16 teams) began on Saturday, 5 October 1991 and ended on 28 December 1991. Premier A Slovenian Basketball League
The Premier A Slovenian Basketball League ( sl, 1. slovenska košarkarska liga), abbreviated as 1. SKL and known as the Liga Nova KBM due to sponsorship reasons, is the top-level professional men's basketball league in Slovenia. The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Slovenia, consists of eleven clubs. The most successful team is Cedevita Olimpija with 19 titles. History The league was founded in 1991, shortly after Slovenia's independence from SFR Yugoslavia. Before the independence, the Slovenian Republic League was played as a second or third level of Yugoslav basketball. Olimpija, Ljubljana, Slovan, ŽKK Maribor, Lesonit, and Branik Maribor were the only Slovenian teams that played in the Yugoslav First Federal League. Koper
Koper (; it, Capodistria, hr, Kopar) is the fifth largest city in Slovenia. Name The name of the settlement was changed from ''Sveti Križ pri Kostanjevici'' (literally, 'Holy Cross near Kostanjevica') to ''Podbočje'' (literally, 'below the slope') in 1952. Šoštanj
Šoštanj (; german: Schönstein) is a town in northern Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Šoštanj. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The entire municipality is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region. History Šoštanj was first mentioned in written documents dating to around 1200 as ''Schönstein'' in relation to its castle. As a market town it was first mentioned in 1348. It was given town status in 1919 and until the 1960s was the center of the Šalek Valley ( sl, Šaleška dolina). In 1963 nearby Velenje became the administrative center. Šoštanj again became a municipal center in the late 1990s. The town has a long leather-working history, with industrial-scale activity going back to 1788. Medvode

These noticed that the nearby Medanski hill provided a good view over the Medvode and Ljubljana Basin.
