Anglo-Welsh Cup
The Anglo-Welsh Cup (), was a cross-border rugby union knock-out cup competition that featured the 12 Premiership Rugby clubs and the four Welsh regions. It was a created as a replacement for the RFU Knockout Cup, which featured only English clubs. The competition was replaced by the Premiership Rugby Cup, involving only the 12 English Premiership clubs, beginning with the 2018–19 season. History Background RFU Knockout Cup From 1971 to 2005, English clubs played in the RFU Knockout Cup. At its formation, it was the highest honour that a club could win, as there were no nationally organised leagues until merit leagues were introduced in 1984, followed by the full national league pyramid in 1987. Ben Clarke
Ben Clarke (born 15 April 1968), is a former England back-row international rugby union player. Biography Educated at Bishop's Stortford College, Clarke played for Bath Rugby from 1992 to 1996, before joining Richmond F.C. as the first £1-million player. He returned to Bath in 2000 for a second spell as captain, before knee injuries reduced his appearances and he left the club for a second time, joining Worcester Warriors as player/coach in 2001. Clarke first played for England in November 1992 v South Africa. In 1995 Clarke received the first yellow card in the sport, for stamping on the Irish player Simon Geoghegan, however, at the time the card was only shown as a warning and was not used to send players off. Michael Anthony Wedderburn (born 28 March 1964) is an English sports presenter for Sky Sports, primarily on Sky Sports News' ''Good Morning Sports Fans'' since 1998. He formerly played rugby union for Harlequins and Wasps, and cricket for Hampshire's 2nd XI. Early life and sports career Mike Wedderburn was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, on 28 March 1964. He was educated at Portsmouth Grammar School. He played cricket as a fast bowler for Hampshire, making four appearances in the Second Eleven Championship in 1983 and 1984. Jack Rowell
Jack Rowell OBE (born 1937) is an English rugby union coach and executive. He is the former coach of Bath and England. Rugby career Coaching Between 1978 and 1994 Rowell coached Bath during their ''golden era'', winning eight John Player/Pilkington Cups and five League Championships. Rowell was the coach of the England rugby team from 1995 to 1997. John Mallett
John Anthony Mallett (born in Lincoln, 28 May 1970) is a former English rugby union footballer. He played as a prop. Mallett was educated at St Hugh's School, Woodhall Spa until age of 13, he then moved to Millfield and played for Bath Rugby until 2002. David William Egerton (19 October 1961 – 8 February 2021) was an English rugby union international who represented England from 1988 to 1990. At club level, Egerton played for Bath Rugby between 1985 and 1995. After retiring, Egerton worked as a coach for Bristol United and Bridgwater & Albion. Graham Dawe
Richard Graham Reed Dawe (born 4 September 1959 in Tavistock) is a former English rugby union footballer and the former coach of Plymouth Albion. He played for Bath Rugby, Sale Sharks, Plymouth Albion and Launceston. Dawe earned 5 caps for England, from 1987 to 1995. He made his debut in the Five Nations in 1987. Victor Eriakpo Ubogu (born 8 September 1964) is a former Bath and England rugby union player. Arriving in the UK from Lagos, Nigeria in 1977, he attended West Buckland School in Devon he received the school's top award, the Fortescue Medal. While at school he played for England Under 18s. Martin Haag (born 28 July 1968 in Chelmsford, England) was an English rugby union player who principally played for Bath Rugby and was capped twice by England.
