German Television
Television in Germany began in Berlin on 22 March 1935, broadcasting for 90 minutes three times a week. It was home to the first public television station in the world, named ''Fernsehsender Paul Nipkow''. In 2000, the German television market had approximately 36.5 million television households, making it the largest television market in Europe. Nowadays, 95% of German households have at least one television receiver. All the main German TV channels are free-to-air. History In 1948 the British occupation forces allowed NWDR to broadcast television programmes for the British zone. Other regional networks also started to launch television in their own areas. Tiny Toon Adventures
''Tiny Toon Adventures'' is an American animated comedy television series that was broadcast from September 14, 1990, to December 6, 1992. It was the first collaborative effort of Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television and Warner Bros. Animation after being conceived in the late 1980s by Tom Ruegger. The show follows the adventures of a group of young cartoon characters who attend Acme Looniversity to become the next generation of characters from the '' Looney Tunes'' series. The pilot episode, "The Looney Beginning", aired as a prime-time special on CBS on September 14, 1990, while the series itself was featured in first-run syndication for the first two seasons. The final season was aired on Fox Kids. The series ended production in 1992 in favor of ''Animaniacs'', which premiered a year later; however, two specials were produced in 1994. ''Watt on Earth'' is a children's television programme that ran for two 12-episode series in 1991 and 1992, shown as part of Children's BBC. It was written by the ''Doctor Who'' writers Pip and Jane Baker. Premise The show centres around the titular character Watt (Garth Napier Jones); an extraterrestrial with, by human standards, an odd taste in food, and the ability to transanimateobjectify. He comes to Earth to flee his evil uncle: Watt is heir to the throne on his home planet, and his uncle (voice: Michael Kilgarriff) had sent his top henchman Jemadah (John Grillo) to follow and kill Watt. The planet's previous heirs, Watt's parents, are mentioned by Watt as having died in a mysterious 'accident' while on the way to their coronation, which was no doubt caused by the uncle. Summary The novels revolve around three teens who are recruited by an agency known as 'The Agency' just before their deaths. ''The Real McCoy'' was a BBC Television sketch comedy show that ran from 1991 to 1996 featuring an array of black and Asian comedy stars and featured many famous guest appearances, including Leo Muhammad, Ian Wright, Linford Christie and Frank Bruno. Development The producer of the first two series, Charlie Hanson, was the co-founder of the Black Theatre Co-operative (now NitroBeat) and had produced '' No Problem!'' and ''Desmond's'' before creating ''The Real McCoy''. ''Finders Keepers'' is a British children's game show based on the original American format of the same name. It was originally broadcast on ITV between 12 April 1991 and 6 August 1996, hosted by Neil Buchanan. It was then revived from 6 January to 14 April 2006, hosted by Jeff Brazier. Format Two teams of two called the green meanies and the yellow terrors are given the opportunity to "raid the room" across eight rooms and two rounds to find hidden objects, found by clues read out by the host prior to raiding. Each room raid lasted 30 seconds and if the object was found, won the team 25 points in the first round, and 50 points in the second. If a team did not find their object, the points went to the other team. Each raid was hectic because the rooms had streamers, confetti, and Silly String raining from the ceiling as the raids went on. ''Billy Webb's Amazing Story'' is a 1991 CBBC series by Steve Attridge, continuing the story of Billy Webb, a character in the book the series was based on, ''Alfonso Bonzo'' by Andrew Davies. Billy has been having trouble with certain items he acquires from strange people, including pancake mixture that gives his whole class hiccups, a bike which flies, and a strange watch.
