1991 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup
The 1991 FIVB Women's World Cup was held from 8 to 17 November 1991 in 3 cities in Japan: Tokyo, Sendai, and Osaka. Twelve national teams played for the right to a fast lane ticket into the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Caren Kemner
Caren Marie Alexius Kemner (born April 16, 1965, in Quincy, Illinois) is an American former volleyball player and three-time Olympian. Kemner was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2013. High school Kemner played volleyball at Quincy Notre Dame High School, and led her team to an undefeated season and a state championship in 1980 as a sophomore. She graduated from high school in 1983. College Kemner played two seasons of college women's volleyball and softball at the University of Arizona. She was a second-team AVCA All-American in volleyball in 1984. Kemner was inducted into the University of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 1992. National team Kemner competed with the United States women's national volleyball team at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. Chang Yoon-hee
Chang Yoon-hee (; born ) is a retired South Korean female volleyball player. She was part of the South Korea women's national volleyball team. On the club level she played with Honam Oil, which later became LG Oil and then GS Caltex. Chang made a strong start to her career by winning the Most Valuable Player of the Year award in 1989. She was named "best server" at the 1989 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup, and "best defender" at the 1991 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup. In 1996, she stated that she had no intention of getting married or retiring in the near future. After the 1996 Summer Olympics, she stepped down from the national team, but continued to play at the club level. She married national cycling team member Lee Kyung-hwan in April 1997. Though initially concerned about her ability to balance married life and the demands of volleyball, she returned to the national team again in 1998. Gabriela Pérez Del Solar
Gabriela "Gaby" Lourdes Pérez del Solar Cuculiza (born July 10, 1968) is a retired Peruvian volleyball player and a politician and former Congresswoman of the Christian People's Party. Sports career Perez del Solar began to play volleyball at 14 years old. Her 1.94 m height helped her to become an internationally respected blocker. She ranked in fourth place in the 1984 Summer Olympics. She began to show her abilities for the sport in the 1985 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup in Japan, and at just 17 years old was chosen as the best blocker of the tournament and ranked in fifth place, she also won the gold medal in the 1985 South American Championship. Eugenio George Lafita (March 29, 1933 – June 1, 2014) was a Cuban volleyball coach. Nicknamed "Volleyball guru", Lafita led the Cuban women's team to three straight gold medals in the Olympic Games, 1992, 1996 and 2000.
