Richard David Nerurkar MBE (born 6 January 1964) is a former track and field athlete from Great Britain, competing in the long-distance running events. Personal life Nerurkar was born in Wolverhampton, England, to an Indian father and English mother, he moved to Bradford, where he attended Bradford Grammar School. He has a brother and sister. He was a language teacher at Marlborough College between 1989 and 1991. Career Nerurkar won the English national cross-country championship three times and twice finished in the top 20 in the World Cross-Country Championships. On the track, he finished fifth in the 10,000 metres in the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo, and 17th in the 10,000m final of the 1992 Olympics. Carl Edward Thackery (born 14 October 1962 in Sheffield, England) is a retired British long-distance runner, who competed in the 1980s and 1990s. Athletics career He ran twice for Great Britain in the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships, finishing 16th and winning team silver in 1992 and winning individual and team bronzes in 1993. Robert Neil "Rob" Denmark (born 23 November 1968) is a British former middle- and long-distance runner who won a gold medal in the 5000 metres at the 1994 Commonwealth Games, a silver medal in the 5000 metres at the 1994 European Championships, and a bronze medal in the 3000 metres at the 1991 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Tom Hanlon (born 20 May 1967) is a Scottish former athlete who competed mainly in the 3000 metres steeplechase. He represented Great Britain at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He also represented Great Britain at two World Championships, and Scotland at two Commonwealth Games. His best time for the 3000m steeplechase of 8:12.58 on 3 August 1991 in Monaco, is the Scottish record (as of 2016) and ranks him third on the British all-time list behind Mark Rowland and Colin Reitz.
