1990–91 Honduran Liga Nacional
The 1990–91 Honduran Liga Nacional season was the 25th edition of the Honduran Liga Nacional. The format of the tournament consisted of a three round-robin schedule followed by a 5-team playoff round. Real C.D. España won the title after defeating C.D. Motagua in the finals. Liga Nacional De Fútbol Profesional De Honduras
Liga Betcris de Honduras (''Honduran National Professional Football League'') is the highest division of football in Honduras. The league season is divided into Opening (autumn) and Closing (spring). One team is relegated to the Liga de Ascenso (the team with fewest points in Opening and Closing) and one team is promoted from Liga de Ascenso. The top four clubs participate in play-offs to decide the champion. The winners of the Opening and Closing competitions participate in the CONCACAF Champions League. Estadio Excelsior is a multi-purpose stadium in Puerto Cortés, Honduras. It is currently used mostly for Association football, football matches and is the home stadium of C.D. Platense, Platense. Geovanny Castro
Edwin Geovanny Castro (born 24 June 1969) is a retired Honduran footballer who played as a striker. He played most of his career for Motagua scoring 40 goals. Club career Nicknamed ''El Venado'' (The Deer) because of his pace, the long-haired Castro also played for Súper Estrella, Marathón, Vida, Federal and Broncos for he scored 60 goals in total. He was the national league top goalscorer in 1995–96 International career Castro played against Panama at the 1991 UNCAF Nations Cup. HernaÃn Arzú Güity (born 13 October 1967) is a retired Honduran football player who made his name with the national team in the 1990s. Club career Arzú started his career at F.C. Motagua and played 212 matches for the club over a period of 10 years. He also played for Marathón. International career Arzú made his debut for Honduras in a June 1992 friendly match against Panama and has earned a total of 36 caps, scoring no goals. Gilberto Machado
Gilberto Leonel Machado GarcÃa (born 23 March 1962) is a retired Honduran footballer who played as a midfielder for Marathón, Olimpia, and Deportes Progreseño in Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras. He is the current manager of Honduran second division side Sula de La Lima. Club career Born in San Pedro Sula, Machado played club football in Honduras. He made his debut for Marathón on 29 July 1979 against Atlético Portuario and scored his first goal on 22 February 1981 against Real España. Machado was the Honduran league's top goal-scorer in 1987, scoring 19 goals for Marathon. He is also Marathon's all-time leading goal-scorer, scoring 78 goals from 1979 to 1991. In 1991, Machado transferred to Olimpia for one season scoring 4 goals, and then finished his career with Deportes Progreseño. Nicolás Suazo
Nicolás Suazo Velásquez (born 9 January 1965 in San Pedro Sula, Cortés) is a retired Honduran footballer who played as a forward. Club career Nicknamed ''Nicogol'' because of his prolific goalscoring, Suazo played in Honduras for Independiente, Marathón and Victoria, in Costa Rica for Herediano alongside compatriot Danilo Galindo and for Comunicaciones and USAC in Guatemala. He scored 48 goals in total in the Honduran National League and still is the most prolific Honduran in de Costa Rican league with 46. Cortés Department
Cortés is one of the 18 departments of Honduras. The department covers an area of 3,954 km² and, in 2015, had an estimated population of 1,612,762, making it the most populous in Honduras. The Merendón Mountains rise in western Cortés, but the department is mostly a tropical lowland, the Sula Valley, crossed by the Ulúa and Chamelecon rivers. It was created in 1893 from parts of the departments of Santa Bárbara and Yoro. The departmental capital is San Pedro Sula. Oscar or Oskar is a masculine given name of Irish origin.
