Wayne Levi
Wayne John Levi (born February 22, 1952) is an American professional golfer. Early life Levi was born in Little Falls, New York and attended high school in Herkimer, New York. He enrolled at Oswego State University for two years and then the University of South Florida briefly, before turning professional in 1973. Professional career Levi went on to win 12 times on the PGA Tour. His career year was 1990, when he had four wins, finished second on the final money list and was the appointed PGA Tour Player of the Year. After winning the 1990 Canadian Open, Levi advanced to a career best 19th on the Official World Golf Ranking. After the 1990 season, Levi was placed 16th on the PGA Tour All-time-money-list. He played on the winning U.S. 1991 Ryder Cup team at Kiawa Island, South Carolina. The same year he represented the U.S., together with Joey Sindelar, at the World Cup in Rome, Italy. David Ishii
David S. Ishii (born July 26, 1955) is an American professional golfer of Japanese descent. Early life Ishii grew up on the island of Kauai in Hawaii and graduated from Kauai High School. As a junior in high school, he won the Hawaii State High School Championship. Amateur career Ishii played his collegiate golf at the University of Houston from 1974 to 1977. He won four individual events, was a member of the 1977 NCAA Championship team, and was a 1977 All-American. Professional career He turned professional in 1979. He led the money list on the Japan Golf Tour in 1987. He has 14 victories on the Japan Golf Tour and is 13th on the career money list. Ishii won the inaugural Kapalua Open in 1982 and also won the 1990 Hawaiian Open, a PGA Tour event. He was the second Hawaiian native to win the event, after Ted Makalena in 1966. 1990 Masters Tournament
The 1990 Masters Tournament was the 54th Masters Tournament, held April 5–8 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Nick Faldo won his second consecutive Masters and the third of his six major titles on the second sudden-death playoff hole over Raymond Floyd, the 1976 champion. The playoff began on the tenth hole where both made par. At the next hole, #11, Floyd put his 7-iron approach shot into the pond left of the green, while Faldo hit to within of the cup; he lagged his birdie putt to within a few inches and tapped in for the win. It foiled Floyd's attempt to win a major in four different decades. Afterward, he said, "This is the most devastating thing that's ever happened to me in my career. Tony Sills
Anthony Irvin Sills (born December 5, 1955) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and later became a golf teaching professional. Sills, who is Jewish, was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. As a youth, he caddied at the Riviera Country Club, including when the club hosted the Los Angeles Open. Sills attended Palisades High School and later the University of Southern California, where he was a member of the golf team with future PGA Tour golfer Scott Simpson. Sills turned professional in 1980. He had 22 top-10 finishes in PGA Tour events including a win at the 1990 Independent Insurance Agent Open. Independent Insurance Agent Open
The Cadence Bank Houston Open is a professional golf tournament in Texas on the PGA Tour, played in November. As a part of a restructuring of the schedule, the event moved to the fall in 2019. Because the tour year starts the previous fall, the event was not a part of the 2019 PGA Tour, but was one of the first events of the 2020 PGA Tour. It is held at the Memorial Park Municipal Golf Course in Harris County near downtown Houston and the Galleria. The Arnold Palmer Invitational is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour. It is played each March at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge, a private golf resort owned since 1974 by Arnold Palmer in Bay Hill, a suburb southwest of Orlando, Florida. The event was founded in 1979 as a successor to the Florida Citrus Open Invitational, which debuted in 1966 and was played at Rio Pinar Country Club, east of Orlando, through 1978. Arnold Palmer won the Florida Citrus Open in 1971. Jodie Mudd
Joseph Martin "Jodie" Mudd (born April 23, 1960) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour. Professional career Mudd was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, where he developed into an honored amateur golfer. Mudd successfully earned a spot on the PGA Tour during 1983 PGA Tour Qualifying School. Mudd won four PGA Tour events during his career. His top year was 1990, when he finished 5th on the final money list, and won two of the Tour's most prestigious non-majors: the Nabisco Championship and The Players Championship. His best finish in a major championship was T-4 at both The Masters in 1987 and the 1990 Open Championship. John Huston (golfer)
Johnny Ray Huston (born June 1, 1961) is an American professional golfer who won seven PGA Tour events and currently plays on the Champions Tour. Early life Huston was born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama and was a member of the golf team. Professional career Huston turned professional in 1983. He won seven PGA Tour events and has had more than 80 top-10 finishes in his career. He has a history of being a "streaky" player, who either plays extremely well or mediocre. At the 1998 United Airlines Hawaiian Open, he broke a 53-year-old record for 72-hole scoring by shooting 260, a 28-under-par performance. Honda Classic
The Honda Classic is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour in south Florida. It was founded in 1972 as Jackie Gleason's Inverrary Classic, and prior to a schedule change in 2021 was frequently the first of the Florida events in late winter following the "West Coast Swing." Doral-Ryder Open
The Doral Open was a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour in the southeastern United States. It was played annually for 45 seasons, from 1962 to 2006, on the "Blue Monster" course at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Doral, Florida, a suburb west of Miami. The introduction of the FedEx Cup in 2007 caused a change in the PGA Tour schedule. The WGC-CA Championship, a World Golf Championship event co-sponsored by the PGA Tour, moved from October to March and took the Doral Open's spot on the schedule. This championship was also held at the Blue Monster course for the next decade; it was renamed the WGC-Cadillac Championship in 2011 and continued at Doral through 2016.
