Sergey Li
Sergey Vladimirovich Li (russian: Серге́й Влади́мирович Ли, born 5 August 1962) is a retired Soviet weightlifter of Korean origin. He won silver medals at the world championships in 1987 and 1990 and at the European championships in 1988. Li took up weightlifting at the age of 12 and was trained by his father, who won the Soviet title in 1975 and trained the Kyrgyz weightlifting team. Ingo Steinhöfel
Ingo Steinhöfel (born 29 May 1967 in Plauen, Saxony, East Germany), is a former German weightlifter who competed at five Olympics from 1988 to 2004. He won a silver medal in the middleweight class at the 1988 Olympics. He is, jointly with fellow (East) German Ronny Weller, the second weightlifter to compete at five Olympics. The first was Hungarian Imre Földi from 1960 to 1976. At the world championships, he came 3rd in the 1987 middleweight class (345.0 kg), 3rd in the 1989 light-heavyweight class (377.5 kg) and 2nd in the 1994 middleweight class (362.5 kg). At the European championships, he came 3rd in the 1989 light-heavyweight class (377.5 kg); 2nd in the 1997 middleweight class (350.0 kg). Aleksandar Varbanov
Aleksandar Varbanov ( bg, Александър Върбанов; born May 9, 1964) was a weightlifter for Bulgaria. Varbanov is one of the greatest weightlifters of all-time. Alexander has the 9th highest Sinclair ever of 485.78 made up of a 167.5 kg snatch and a 215 kg clean and jerk at under 75 kg in body weight! He is without a doubt the greatest clean and jerker of that bodyweight of all-time. As well as being a sensational athlete, Alexander Varbanov was part of the most dominant team in weightlifting history: The Bulgarian national team of the 1980s. Jon Chol-ho (born 7 April 1969) is a North Korean former weightlifter, who competed in the middleweight class and represented North Korea at international competitions. Altimurat Orazdurdiev ( tk, Altymyrat Orazdurdyýew; June 16, 1969 – 1997) was a Turkmen former weightlifter and an Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR. Early life He was born in the Mary region of Sakarchaga, one of five brothers. He graduated from the National Institute of Sports and Tourism of Turkmenistan. Career Orazdurdiev was coached by Abrahamian Brono. He performed for the "Dynamo" (Ashgabat). He was the first Turkman weightlifter to ever win the European Championship three times and has been recognized an equal number of times as the strongest man in the world. He performed in several 66–72 kg weight categories. In 1992, he was a member of the United Team at the Olympic Games in Barcelona. However, head coach Vasily Alexeev did not allow him to compete. Andreas Behm
Andreas Behm (28 November 1962 – 27 December 2021) was a German weightlifter. Behm competed at the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics in the lightweight category and finished in third and tenth place, respectively. Between 1981 and 1993 he won two gold, three silver and six bronze medals at European and world championships. On 7 July 1984, he set three world records, one in clean & jerk and two in the total. He competed until age 36 and then worked as a coach. He died from a heart attack on 27 December 2021, at the age of 59. His son Robby is also a weightlifter.
