The 1989 New Orleans Saints season was the franchise's 23rd season in the National Football League, and their fourteenth with home games at the Superdome. They failed to improve upon their 10–6 record from 1988 and instead finished at 9–7, missing the playoffs for the second straight season. NFC West
The National Football Conference - Western Division or NFC West is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It currently has four members: the Arizona Cardinals, the Los Angeles Rams, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks. The division was formed in 1967 as the National Football League Coastal Division, keeping with the theme of having all of the league's divisions starting with the letter "C." The division was so named because its teams were fairly close to the coasts of the United States, although they were on opposite coasts, making for long travel between division rivals. The Cal State Fullerton Titans football program represented California State University, Fullerton from the 1970 through 1992 seasons. David Wesley Griggs (February 5, 1967 – June 19, 1995) was a outside linebacker in the National Football League for six seasons, compiling 14.5 sacks, 1 interception, and four fumble recoveries. The Western Michigan Broncos football program represents Western Michigan University in the Football Bowl Subdivision of Division I and the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Western Michigan has competed in football since 1906, when they played three games in their inaugural season.
