1988–89 Divizia B
The 1988–89 Divizia B was the 49th season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format has been maintained to three series, each of them having 18 teams. At the end of the season the winners of the series promoted to Divizia A and the last four places from each series relegated to Divizia C. Liga II
The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Divisions Since its inception in 1934, Liga II had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. Generally, Seria I included eastern teams while Seria II included western sides, although clubs near the center of the country are allowed to choose in which series they will compete. The first six teams from each series participate in a play-off for potential promotion to Liga I. The teams placed from 7th to 12th will play a relegation play-off, where the last two teams are relegated to Liga III. 1989–90 Divizia B
The 1989–90 Divizia B was the 50th season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format has been maintained to three series, each of them having 18 teams. At the end of the season the winners of the series promoted to Divizia A and the last three places from each series relegated to Divizia C. A relegation play-off was played between the 15th places from each series, team ranked last also relegated to Divizia C: the relegation play-off was necessary due to the fall of communism in December 1989, culminating with the exclusion from Divizia A of Flacăra Moreni and Olt Scornicești, and the dissolution of Victoria București. CSM Suceava, full name Clubul Sportiv Municipal Suceava, was a sports club from Suceava, Romania. It is notable for its football team which played one season in the Divizia A, the highest Romanian league at that time. History CSM Suceava was founded on 19 July 1972, incorporating the sections of football, track and field, rugby, and volleyball. During the years, more sections were added and offered to its members, among them archery, baseball, boxing, Greco-Roman wrestling, handball, ice hockey, rowing (sport), rowing, speed skating, and Swimming (sport), swimming. FCM Câmpina
FCM Câmpina was a Romanian football team from Poiana Câmpina, Prahova County founded in 1936 and dissolved in 2008. History The team was founded under the name ''Astra Câmpina'', which was a local factory that was sponsoring the team. Later the team changed its name to ''Poiana Câmpina''. Even though the team is now called FCM Câmpina (Municipal Football Club Câmpina), most of its fans still call the team "Poiana" or "Poieniţa", a diminutive. Furthermore, FCM Câmpina used to be, for a couple of years, Dinamo Bucharest's second team, and was back then called Dinamo Poiana Câmpina. The Liga 3, most often spelled as Liga III, is the third level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia C to Liga III before the start of the 2006–07 season.
