The 1988–89 Cypriot Fourth Division was the 4th season of the Cypriot fourth-level football league. The championship was split into four groups. The winners were: * Group A: AEK Kythreas * Group B: APEP Pelendriou * Group C: Enosis Neon Ayia Napa * Group D: Apollon Lympion The four winners gave playoff matches and the two first were promoted to the 1989–90 Cypriot Third Division. Seven teams were relegated to regional leagues. Cypriot Fourth Division
The Cypriot Fourth Division ( el, Τέταρτη Κατηγορία) was the fourth tier association football, football league competition in Cyprus, ran by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league were promoted to the Cypriot Third Division, and the lowest finishing teams were relegated to the amateur leagues. History The Cypriot Fourth Division started the 1985–86 football season as the fourth level of the Cypriot football. The decision was taken by CFA on 23 July 1985. The first eight seasons the championship was split into three or four geographical groups, representing the Districts of Cyprus. Ethnikos Latsion FC
Ethnikos Latsion ( el, Εθνικός Λατσιών) is a Cypriot association football club based in Latsia, located in the Nicosia District. Its stadium is the Latsia Municipal Stadium and its colours are blue and white. 1988–89 Cypriot Cup
The 1988–89 Cypriot Cup was the 47th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 68 clubs entered the competition. It began on 16 November 1988 with the first preliminary round and concluded on 10 June 1989 with the final which was held at Tsirion Stadium. AEL Limassol won their 6th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Aris 3–2 in the final. Format In the 1988–89 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division, the Cypriot Third Division and 24 of the 42 teams of the Cypriot Fourth Division. The competition consisted of seven knock-out rounds. In the preliminary rounds each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of the one of the two teams, according to the draw results. The 1988–89 Cypriot First Division was the 50th season of the Cypriot top-level football league. Omonia won their 16th title. Format Fifteen teams participated in the 1988–89 Cypriot First Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The last three teams were relegated to the 1989–90 Cypriot Second Division. The champions ensured their participation in the 1989–90 European Cup and the runners-up in the 1989–90 UEFA Cup. AOL – Omonia Lakatamias
Lakatamia ( el, Λακατάμια ; tr, Lakadamya) is a southwestern suburb of Nicosia, Cyprus. In terms of population, Lakatamia municipality is the third largest municipality in Nicosia district and the fifth largest municipality in Cyprus (after Limassol, Strovolos, Nicosia and Larnaca). In 2011 Lakatamia had a population of 38,345. Due to the expansion of the Nicosia urban area, Lakatamia has grown from two small villages (Upper and Lower Lakatamia) into a sizeable suburb. AEK Kythreas (Greek: ΑΕΚ; ''Aθλητική Ένωση Κυθρεας'', Athlitiki Enosi Kythreas) is a Cypriot football club, formerly based in Kythrea, a village under ''de facto'' control of Northern Cyprus. Since 1974 due to the Turkish invasion in Cyprus and the occupation of Değirmenli village, the club is based in Nicosia.
