POMIS Cup
The POMIS Cup (known fully as President of Maldives Invitational Soccer Cup) is an international club football tournament kicked off in 1987 to promote the standards of local football in Maldives. This is the only international soccer club tournament held in the Maldives. Due to various reasons, Football Association of Maldives (FAM) was not able to stage the tournament in the years of 2002 and 2004 to 2014. In 2003, two foreign clubs from India and Sri Lanka competed in the cup, Mahindra United and Negombo Youth. On 22 December 2014, Football Association of Maldives (FAM) normalisation committee decided to introduce POMIS Cup again and started in January 2015. In 2015, the top two teams of Dhivehi League played against two foreign teams in the POMIS Cup. From 2016 onward, there will be four Maldivian teams (top four teams of Dhivehi Premier League) to participate the tournament along with two foreign teams. New Radiant SC
New Radiant Sports Club is a Maldivian professional football club based in Henveiru – Malé, Maldives. The club was founded on 19 August 1979 by Ahmed Waheed and his friend Ahammadhanik. New Radiant has won all domestic competitions being held in the Maldives and the club is the most successful in the Maldives in terms of trophies won and is also the most successful Maldivian club in the international arena. They were semi-finalists in the AFC Cup in 2005 and the only Maldivian club to have progressed beyond group stages in the AFC cup in multiple occasions. New Radiant has won Dhivehi League/Dhivehi Premier League six times, FA cup 12 times out of 29 and have won the Maldives Cup Winners' Cup four times. Rasmee Dhandu Stadium
The National Football Stadium ( dv, ގަލޮޅު ފުޓްބޯޅަ ދަނޑު), also known as the Galolhu Rasmee Dhandu Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Malé, Maldives. Malé (, ; dv, މާލެ) is the capital and most populous city of the Maldives. With a population of 252,768 and an area of , it is also one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The city is geographically located at the southern edge of North Malé Atoll ( Kaafu Atoll). Club Valencia is a Maldivian football club based in Malé, Maldives. Nicknamed ''The Sunrisers'', the club competes in the Dhivehi Premier League, the top tier of Maldivian football. History The notion of establishing a football club named Club Valencia arose in the late 1970s from the players of blue and gold teams participating in the Junior Football Pool organized by National Sports Academy. The first two names proposed to the government for approval as the name of the club were Youth Recreation Movement and Juvenile Valencia Atletico; both were rejected. Renown Sports Club
Renown Sports Club is a Sri Lankan professional football club based in Kotahena, Colombo. Founded in 1981 by the Peeris Brothers, the club currently competes in the Sri Lanka Champions League. History Renown SC was founded in 1981. The club emerged champions in the Sri Lanka Champions League four times in 1990, 1993, 1994 and 2009. They became the first Sri Lankan club to sign numerous Indian players for a single season, signing Shaji Varghese, Shibu Stellas and Shyam Simon (all from Kerala) in 2004. Victory is one of the most successful football clubs in Maldives, winning a record 21 National Championships.
