1988 Coupe De France Final
The 1988 Coupe de France Final was a football match held at Parc des Princes, Paris on June 11, 1988, that saw FC Metz defeat FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in a penalty shoot out. After normal time and extra-time could not separate the two sides, the match was to be decided on penalty kicks. Mickaël Madar from FC Sochaux-Montbéliard was the only one to miss his penalty. Christian Bracconi
Christian Bracconi (born 25 November 1960) is a French-Italian former footballer who played as a forward, and a current manager of R.E. Virton. During his playing days, Bracconi played for SC Bastia in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. Playing career Bracconi started his career in Ligue 1 with SC Bastia, whom he played for from 1980 to 1983. After spending three seasons with Bastia, Bracconi signed for Racing Besançon in Ligue 2. While at Besançon Bracconi enjoyed the best time of his career in which he scored 20 goals in his three seasons with the club in the second division. He then made the move back to Ligue 1 with FC Metz where he stayed for two seasons before moving back to Ligue 2 with former club SC Bastia. In 1991, after spending three seasons with Bastia, Bracconi retired from professional football. The team captain of an association football team, sometimes known as the skipper, is a team member chosen to be the on-pitch leader of the team; they are often one of the older or more experienced members of the squad, or a player that can heavily influence a game or has good leadership qualities. The team captain is usually identified by the wearing of an armband. Responsibilities The only official responsibility of a captain specified by the Laws of the Game is to participate in the coin toss prior to kick-off (for choice of ends or to have kick-off) and prior to a penalty shootout. Gilles Rousset (born 22 August 1963) is a French former professional footballer, who played as a goalkeeper. Rousset started his career with Sochaux in 1982, where he spent eight seasons, playing more than 100 times for the Montbéliard side before he was transferred to Olympique Lyonnais in 1990. He quickly established himself as the first choice goalkeeper at the Stade de Gerland, playing 98 matches over the next 3 seasons. During this period, Rousset was capped twice by France. He was selected in the squad for the 1992 Euro Championships although, as second choice goalkeeper, he did not play in Sweden.
