Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre
Holme Pierrepont Country Park, home of The National Water Sports Centre is located in the hamlet of Holme Pierrepont near Nottingham, England and on the River Trent. It is used for many different types of sports and has recently received significant investment which has enabled a major refurbishment of existing facilities as well as introduction of new facilities. Run by Serco on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, it was previously one of five National Sports Centres, and is a unique sporting venue set in the centre of the country. History The centre was constructed during 1970 and 1971 on a former gravel works and required the excavation of one and a half million Cubic yard, cubic yards of material. Thames Rowing Club
The Thames Rowing Club (TRC) is a rowing club based on the tidal Thames as it flows through the western suburbs of London. The TRC clubhouse stands on Putney Embankment. The club was founded in 1860. As at July 2022, Thames had won events at Henley Royal Regatta 85 times. Thames is one of the founding clubs of Remenham Club; a social club for rowers, with a clubhouse and grounds on the Henley Royal Regatta course. Thames hosts Cambridge University Women's Boat Club for their winter Tideway training ahead of the Women's Boat Race, and on race day itself. Thames also houses the Boat Race's media centre and administrative office. Eton College Boat Club
Eton College Boat Club is a rowing club based on the River Thames, at Eton College, Windsor and at the Eton Rowing Centre on Dorney Lake. History The Club belongs to Eton College and was founded in 1840 although there are earlier references to rowing at the college (as early as 1791). In 1818, Eton challenged Westminster to a race and in 1829, a race actually took place. This race was known as 'The Challenge'. This race was reinitiated in 2019. The college has a significant record of producing a number of junior national champions and regatta champions and has won the Schools' Head of the River Race a record 14 times, the Queen Mother Challenge Cup at the National Schools' Regatta a record 20 times and the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta a record 15 times. Shiplake College Boat Club is a rowing club based on the River Thames at Shiplake College Boathouse, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. History Shiplake College was founded in 1959 by Alexander and Eunice Everett. Westminster School Boat Club
Westminster School Boat Club is a rowing club based on the River Thames at the Embankment, Putney, London. History The club is reputedly the oldest rowing club in the world. Anecdotal evidence exists for rowing at Westminster in the 18th century and official records date back to the 'Water Ledger' of 1813. Pink was chosen by Westminster as the School's colour for the rowing match against Eton College of 4 May 1837; before this race, both schools wore blue. Crews containing boys and girls who attend, or are affiliated to, Westminster School are formed to race at all levels of school rowing. Monmouth School
Monmouth School for Boys is a public school (independent day and boarding school) for boys in Monmouth, Wales. The school was founded in 1614 with a bequest from William Jones, a successful merchant and trader. The School is run as a trust, the William Jones's Schools Foundation, by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, one of the livery companies, and has close links to its sister school, Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls. In 2018, the Haberdashers renamed their group of schools in the town, the Monmouth Schools, and made corresponding changes to the names of the boys' and girls' schools. Burway Rowing Club is a rowing club on the River Thames, based at Thameside, Laleham, Borough of Spelthorne, Surrey. Club colours The blade colours are dark blue and gold; kit: yellow and dark blue. Emanuel School Boat Club is a rowing club on the River Thames, based at Dukes Meadows, Chiswick, London. History The club belongs to Emanuel School and has 70 boats and a rowing tank for training at their boathouse. The club was the dominant force in schoolboy rowing during the 1960s, a period in which it won the Schools' Head of the River Race an unprecedented eight times in nine years.
