American Football
American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense, the team with possession of the oval-shaped football, attempts to advance down the field by running with the ball or passing it, while the defense, the team without possession of the ball, aims to stop the offense's advance and to take control of the ball for themselves. Anthony Phillips (offensive Lineman)
Anthony Phillips (born July 6, 1966) is an American athlete and businessman who played football at the University of Oklahoma from 1984 until 1988. Twice an All-America pick at offensive guard, he was drafted after his senior year by the NFL's Chicago Bears, but Phillips opted to forgo professional football. Phillips chose a business career instead, and is vice president at Bank of Oklahoma. Athletic career Anthony Phillips played for Jenks High School and was selected an All-State defensive tackle. Recruited to the University of Oklahoma to play as a linebacker, Phillips redshirted his first year. Todd M. Thomsen (born June 24, 1967) is a former Republican politician from the U.S. state of Oklahoma.
