1987 European Cup Winners' Cup Final
The 1987 European Cup Winners' Cup Final was a football match contested between Ajax of Netherlands and 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig of East Germany. It was the final match of the 1986–87 European Cup Winners' Cup and the 27th European Cup Winners' Cup final. The final was held at Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece. Ajax won the match 1–0 with a 20th-minute header from Marco van Basten. Peter Boeve
Peter Boeve (born 14 March 1957) is a Dutch retired Association football, footballer who played for Ajax, Vitesse, Beerschot VAC and the Netherlands national football team, Netherlands national team. He is the current coach of Hoofdklasse club CSV Apeldoorn. During his career, while playing for Ajax, he was four times champion of Netherlands, three time Netherlands' Cup winner and a winner of European Cup Winners' Cup. Frank Rijkaard
Franklin Edmundo Rijkaard (; born 30 September 1962) is a Dutch former footballer and former manager who played as a defensive midfielder. Rijkaard played for Ajax, Real Zaragoza and AC Milan and represented the Netherlands national team side 73 times, scoring 10 goals. Frank Verlaat
Frank Verlaat (born 5 March 1968) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a defender. He had a 21-year career throughout Europe, playing in the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Germany and finishing his career in Austria. He earned one cap with the Netherlands national team. Career Verlaat moved to Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart from French side AJ Auxerre in 1995. Jan Jacobus "Sonny" Silooy (born 31 August 1963) is a Dutch former professional footballer and football manager. His last team as a manager was United Arab Emirates club Al Shabab under 19. His most successful time as a player was in his period with Ajax. He won seven Eredivisie titles, four KNVB Cups, three Johan Cruyff Shields, one UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, one UEFA Cup, one UEFA Super Cup and one Intercontinental Cup. Stanley Purl Menzo (born 15 October 1963) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, and worked as a manager of Ajax Cape Town in the South African Premier Soccer League. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any).
