1987 Cork Senior Football Championship
The 1987 Cork Senior Football Championship was the 99th staging of the Cork Senior Football Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 21 December 1986. The championship began on 2 May 1987 and ended on 15 November 1987. Imokilly entered the championship as the defending champions. On 15 November 1987, Nemo Rangers won the championship following a 2-11 to 0-09 defeat of Imokilly in the final. This was their eighth championship title overall and their first title since 1983. Ephie Fitzgerald from the Nemo Rangers club was the championship's top scorer with 1-15. O'Donovan Rossa (Skibbereen) GAA
O'Donovan Rossa or Skibbereen is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland. It participates in Cork GAA competitions. Traditionally, the club has been much more successful in Gaelic football. It won its only Cork Senior Football Championship in 1992 and subsequently won the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship after beating Éire Óg of Carlow in the final. The club participates in the Carbery division of Cork GAA. UCC GAA
UCC is a football and hurling club associated with University College Cork. UCC teams play in the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship as well as the two main third-level competitions namely the Sigerson Cup in football, the Fitzgibbon Cup in hurling and the Ashbourne Cup in camogie. They also compete against inter-county sides in the pre-season McGrath Cup (football) and Waterford Crystal Cup (hurling). Cork ( , from , meaning 'marsh') is the second largest city in Ireland and third largest city by population on the island of Ireland. Páirc Uí Chaoimh ( ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Cork (city), Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It is the home of Cork GAA. The venue, often referred to simply as The Park, is located in Ballintemple, Cork, Ballintemple and is built near to the site of the original Cork Athletic Grounds. Passage West GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Passage West, in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club fields teams in both Gaelic football and hurling. It is a member of the Seandún division of Cork GAA. The club is geographically located in the Carrigdhoun GAA division and was originally a member of it prior to transferring to Seandún following a dispute. St Michael's GAA (Cork)
St Michael's Gaelic Football Club is a Gaelic football club in Cork City, Ireland. The club was formed in 1951 after a discussion in The Leaping Salmon Public House in Blackrock near Cork. At that time some of the Blackrock hurlers played football with different city teams and it was decided to enter a football team from Blackrock, thus keeping the players together. A formal meeting was held and St Michael's Gaelic Football Club was established. Current Championship grades History St Michael's first match was against Crosshaven, with Jimmy Furlong as captain. The club's first success was in 1956 when St Michael's took their first Cork Junior Football Championship title, and as there was no Intermediate Championship or League the club took the decision to go Senior in 1957. Bandon, County Cork
Bandon (; ) is a town in County Cork, Ireland. It lies on the River Bandon between two hills. The name in Irish means 'Bridge of the Bandon', a reference to the origin of the town as a crossing point on the river. In 2004 Bandon celebrated its quatercentenary. The town, sometimes called the Gateway to West Cork, had a population of 6,957 at the 2016 census. Bandon is in the Cork South-West ( Dáil Éireann) constituency, which has three seats. Bandon GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling club based in Bandon in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club is affiliated with Carbery division of Cork. In 2007, Bandon won the West Cork Junior A Football Championship, beating Muintir Bhaire in the final. The club's hurling team meanwhile were runners-up in the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship. They beat Kanturk in the semi-final but were overcome by Fr. O'Neill's in the final. In 2016 Bandon won the Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship beating Fermoy in the final. Clonakilty GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in the town and parish of Clonakilty in County Cork, Ireland. It is affiliated to the Carbery division of Cork. It was founded in October 1887. The club is most famous for being from the same town where black pudding is produced. Sallybrook () is a residential area near the town of Glanmire outside Cork City in Ireland. It is in the townland of Knocknahorgan on the River Glashaboy (''Glasa Bhuì'').
