1987 Arab Club Champions Cup
The 1987 Arab Club Champions Cup was played in Saudi Arabia for the second time. This time in the city of Riyadh after the successful hosting of the 1984 Arab Club Champions Cup in Dammam. Al-Rasheed won the championship for the 3rd time, defending their championship once again and proving to be one of the top teams in the region at the time. The Iraqi Premier League ( ar, الدوري العراقي الممتاز) is the top level of the Iraqi football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA) and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Iraq Division One. The league was formed by the IFA in 1974 as the Iraqi National Clubs First Division, the first nationwide league of clubs in Iraq.
