St Mary's Football Club (NTFL)
The St Marys Football Club, nicknamed, Saints, formed in 1952, is an Australian rules football club, affiliated to the Northern Territory Football League. It is famous for its record of success, with 33 NTFL premierships in 52 Grand Finals and 67 out of 70 possible final appearances. To the end of season 2021/22, St Marys have played 1297 games for 935 Wins 351 Losses and 11 Draws. Nicknamed the Saints, St Marys play their home games at Football Park in Marrara. St Marys has produced many talented players, particularly Indigenous Australian players for leagues such as the Australian Football League. Many players from the Tiwi Bombers Football Club also played for the club. St Mary's have only missed the NTFL finals three times in their proud history, the seasons they missed were in 1979/80 (5th), 2000/01 (5th) and 2018/19 (8th). Palmerston Football Club
The Palmerston Football Club, nicknamed, Magpies, is an Australian rules football club, currently playing in the Northern Territory Football League. They were first called Internationals before entering the NTFL, then they were called North Darwin from the 1972/73 to 1995/96 season. Club achievements History The Palmerston Magpies Football Club began in 1970 and was originally known as the Internationals. At that time most players were English and Greek soccer players. John O'Donoghue and Paul Fricker got the started with John doing the ground work while Paul represented the club at NTFL meetings. In 1971, the club was informed by the NTFL executive to field three teams and to change its name to a more suitable football name, hence Nth Darwin was born. Northern Territory Football League
The Northern Territory Football League (NTFL) is an Australian rules football semi-professional league operating in Darwin in the Northern Territory. The league is one of few (and the highest level) Australian Rules competitions played during the Australian Summer with the season beginning in October and ending in March, because cricket cannot be played during the wet season, due to high levels of rain, resulting in the football and cricket seasons being swapped. Darwin Football Club
The Darwin Football Club, nicknamed, Buffaloes, is an Australian rules football club, playing in the Northern Territory Football League. It is the third oldest football club in the Northern Territory. Darwin has won the second most premierships in the NTFL competition. It has produced a large number of Australian Footballers who went on to play professionally in the Australian Football League. Club achievements History The club was formed in 1916. They've been known as Warriors in 1917, Vestey’s in 1918, Buffaloes in 1926, Darwin in 1963 and eventually the Darwin Buffaloes in 2010. The Buffaloes Premier League Men have won 23 titles in the competition. Their most recent win was in the 2005/06 NTFL Grand Final.
