Yunlin County
Yunlin County (Mandarin pinyin: ''Yúnlín Xiàn''; Taigi POJ: ''Hûn-lîm-koān''; Hakka PFS: ''Yùn-lìm-yen'') is a county in western Taiwan. Yunlin County borders the Taiwan Strait to the west, Nantou County to the east, Changhua County to the north at the Zhuoshui River, and Chiayi County to the south at the Beigang River. Yunlin is part of the Chianan Plain, a flat land known for its agriculture. Agricultural products of Yunlin County include pomelo, tea leaves, suan cai, papaya and muskmelon. Yunlin's rivers give it potential for hydroelectricity. Douliu is the largest and capital city of Yunlin. It is the only county on the main island of Taiwan where no city with the same name exists. Chang Zhang-xing (; born 5 March 1986) is best known for his roles as gangster in various Taiwanese films and television series. He began his acting career in 2007, and is best known for his performance in '' The Pace of Consciousness'', an autobiographical film that he wrote, directed, and starred in. For this film, he also received the 33rd Golden Harvest Award for Best Actor. He is currently studying in the College of Creative Media in Kun Shan University. Kuo Tsai-chieh (, born 19 February 1986), also known as Amber Kuo, is a Taiwanese singer and actress. Career Kuo made her debut in the music video of "我們小時候" (When We Were Young) by Taiwanese singer Tank (Taiwanese singer), Tank. She was also featured in Stefanie Sun's music video of "雨天" (Rainy day) and F.I.R's music video "其實還愛你". Genie Chuo (; born 20 January 1986) is a Taiwanese singer, actress and television host. Life and career Chuo won several karaoke competitions when she was a first year in the Taipei County Fuho Junior High School. Cheng Shao-chieh
Cheng Shao-chieh (; born 4 January 1986) is a badminton player from Taiwan. Cheng played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics for the Republic of China as Chinese Taipei. In women's singles, she defeated Ling Wan Ting of Hong Kong and Jun Jae-youn of South Korea in the first two rounds. In the quarterfinals, Cheng lost to Gong Ruina of China 3–11, 3–11. Later that year, she played in the 2004 World Junior Championships, held in Richmond, Canada, where she won the gold title in girls' singles. She also participated in the 2005 World Championships in Anaheim, California, making it to the semifinals and taking a game from the eventual champion, Xie Xingfang. Taroko National Park
Taroko National Park () is one of the nine national parks in Taiwan and was named after the Taroko Gorge, the landmark gorge of the park carved by the Liwu River. The park spans Taichung Municipality, Nantou County, and Hualien County and is located in Xiulin Township, Hualien County, Taiwan. Democratic Progressive Party
The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is a Taiwanese nationalist and centre-left political party in the Republic of China (Taiwan). Controlling both the Republic of China presidency and the unicameral Legislative Yuan, it is the majority ruling party and the dominant party in the Pan-Green Coalition as of 2022. Founded in 1986 by Hsu Hsin-liang, Hsieh Tsung-min and Lin Shui-chuan, a year prior to the end of martial law, the DPP is one of two major parties in Taiwan, the other being the historically dominant Kuomintang (KMT), which previously ruled the country as a one-party state.
