1986 Green Bay Packers Season
The 1986 Green Bay Packers season was their 68th season overall and their 66th season in the National Football League. The team finished with a 4–12 record under coach Forrest Gregg, earning them 4th-place finish in the NFC Central division. The Packers reached their nadir on the afternoon of November 23 at Soldier Field vs. their ancient archrivals, the Bears. After Mark Lee intercepted Jim McMahon in the second quarter, Green Bay defensive end Charles Martin picked up McMahon and slammed him shoulder-first into the artificial turf, causing a season-ending injury to the Chicago quarterback. Martin was ejected by referee Jerry Markbreit and suspended two games by Commissioner Pete Rozelle. NFC North
The National Football Conference – Northern Division or NFC North is one of the four divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Nicknamed the "Black and Blue Division" for the rough and tough rivalry games between the teams, it currently has four members: the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings. The NFC North was previously known as the NFC Central from 1970 to 2001. Tim Harris (linebacker)
Timothy David Harris (born September 10, 1964) is an American former professional football player who was an outside linebacker and defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for the Green Bay Packers (1986–1990), the San Francisco 49ers (1991–1992, 1994–1995), and the Philadelphia Eagles (1993). He played college football at the University of Memphis and was selected by the Packers in the fourth round of the 1986 NFL Draft. As he entered Birmingham's Woodlawn High School, he began to excel in both football and basketball, but he moved with his aunt and uncle, who were teachers, to Memphis after his junior season. George Sefcik
George Sefcik (December 27, 1939 – January 23, 2016), was an American football coach. He was the offensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs in 1988, and the Atlanta Falcons from 1997 through 2001. He coached in 2 Super Bowls - XXXIII with the Atlanta Falcons and XVI with the Cincinnati Bengals. Robert "Bob" Ernest Harlan (born September 9, 1936) is the former Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Green Bay Packers, an American professional football team. He is a graduate of Marquette University, where he was the Sports Information Director for many years. He is also the father of sports announcer Kevin Harlan. Gary Lynn Spann (born February 3, 1963) is a former professional football player. Education and Football Career Spann grew up in Dallas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1981. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players.
