During the 1985–86 English football season, Brentford competed in the Football League Third Division. Brentford F
Brentford is a suburban town in West London, England and part of the London Borough of Hounslow. It lies at the confluence of the River Brent and the Thames, west of Charing Cross. Bradford City Stadium Fire
The Bradford City stadium fire occurred during a Football League Third Division match on Saturday, 11 May 1985 at the Valley Parade stadium in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, killing 56 spectators and injuring at least 265. The stadium was known for its antiquated design and facilities, which included the wooden roof of the main stand. Previous warnings had also been given about a major build-up of litter in the cavity below the seats in the stand. The stand had been officially condemned and was due to be replaced with a steel structure after the season ended. Gary Roberts (footballer, Born 1960)
Gary Paul Michael Roberts (born 5 April 1960) is a Welsh retired professional footballer who played as a forward and winger. As a player, he is best remembered for his six years in the Football League with Brentford, for whom he made over 220 appearances and is a member of the club's Hall of Fame. After retiring as a player, Roberts turned to management and spent 13 years as manager of Cambridge City. Club career Brentford Roberts was born in Rhyl, Wales. He began his career at Isthmian League First Division club Wembley and secured a £6,000 move to the Football League with Third Division club Brentford in October 1980. Paul Roberts (born 27 April 1962) is an English former professional footballer who played as a full back, making over 400 appearances in the Football League. Career Born in West Ham, Roberts began his career as an apprentice at Millwall, making his senior debut in 1978. Trevor Swinburne (born 20 June 1953) is an English retired professional football goalkeeper who made nearly 250 appearances in the Football League for Carlisle United. Terry Hurlock
Terence Alan Hurlock (born 22 September 1958) is an English former professional footballer who played as a central midfielder. Over the course of a 15-year career in the Football League, he had notable spells with Brentford and Millwall. He won England B international caps while with Millwall and is a member of the club's Hall of Fame. Keith Barrington Cassells (born 10 July 1957) is an English retired professional football forward, best remembered for his four seasons in the Football League with Mansfield Town.
