Television In Estonia
Television in Estonia was introduced in 1955, following the Soviet government's decision to establish a television station in 1953. The National TV Channel ETV has maintained an archive since 1955 in which broadcasts of unique aspects of Estonian culture are held. Northern Estonia receives television signals from Finland. During the 1970s and 1980s, Finnish broadcasts were more popular than Soviet-Estonian offerings until the Singing Revolution, with many Estonians enjoying ''Dallas'' and other programs portraying non-Communist lifestyles. Digital television was officially launched on December 15, 2006 when the operator Eesti Digitaaltelevisiooni AS launched its pay service ZUUMtv, operated by Starman, on two multiplexes. In 2006, only ETV was available for free, but as of March 2009, there are already 7 free channels in digital broadcast. Digital television signal ( DVB-T and DVB-H) is broadcast by Levira. Marta Laan
Marta Laan (born 20 May 1985) is an Estonian stage, television, and film actress whose career began in the late 2000s. Early life and education Marta Laan was born and raised in Tallinn, where she attended primary and secondary schools. In 2006, she enrolled in the performing arts department of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre to study acting under course supervisor Hendrik Toompere Jr., graduating in 2010. Among her graduating classmates were: Mikk Jürjens, Liis Haab, Lauri Kaldoja, Liisa Pulk, Roland Laos, Hendrik Toompere Jr. Jr., Sandra Uusberg-Üksküla, and Kristjan Üksküla. Liisa Pulk (born 12 June 1985) is an Estonian stage, television, voice, and film actress whose career began in 2010. Early life and education Liisa Pulk was born in Pärnu, where she attended primary and secondary schools. She is a 2004 graduate of the Pärnu Sütevaka Humanitarian Gymnasium private school. Juss Haasma
Juss Haasma (born 23 August 1985) is an Estonian stage, film and television actor and musician. Early life and education Juss Haasma was born and raised in Tallinn. He has three siblings and one half-sister. He attended Tallinn Old Town Educational College (VHK) and is a 2008 graduate of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Career Stage In 2008, following his graduation from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Haasma began an engagement at the Ugala theatre in Viljandi. He would remain with the Ugala for a year, departing in 2009 to become a freelance actor. He has performed in roles at the Theatre NO99 in Tallinn and the Tartu New Theatre. One of his more memorable stage roles at the Tartu New Theatre was in 2011 in a production of ''Raudmees. Lenna Kuurmaa
Lenna Kuurmaa (born 26 September 1985) is an Estonian singer-songwriter and actress.
She is a member of the girl group Vanilla Ninja, but after the band's hiatus since 2009, continued to work as a solo-artist. She also formed a band with the name "Lenna" who released the debut album ''Lenna'' in June 2010.
